I just noticed this thread. You guys are crazy. I love this forum.

blackhawkdown 10-09-2003 01:03 AM

Hey Guys,

I am supposed to be on the 'con this weekend, but if any of you could swing getting out with this group on their Fordyce cleanup (a short drive from Sacramento), it would sure go a long way to show that H2s fit in with the off roading crowd ...

http://pub151.ezboard.com/ffourdice4...etinboardfrm16

If it happens to snow, or my plans change I may head here instead ... Fordyce is a fun trail ... all of the really hard obstacles have bypasses for those that enjoy seeing the extreme stuff, but don't have the confidence to put their on rig through ...

Glad to see cooler heads prevail!

Now the question is: are any of you against me removing some of the "worthless" posts on this thread.

There is some good info on here and it might be good to continue that conversation?

You comments and opinions are welcomed.

"Gerry Garcia - like" Man, I've been called alot of things, but 'Gerry Garcia like' has NEVER been one of them. LMFAO! I can't stand bleeding hearts and especially tree hugg'n live'n off the doll worthless hippie freaks that contribute little or nothing to society. I'm actually quite the hell raiser. I put the "fun" in disfunctional. Our beer drinking club has a rock crawling problem. etc. I just loathe folks, who should be on the same side argue and bicker over lame acts and statements by a few malcontents. They are not the majority and we need to stick together. Besides, meeting new folk is what it's all about. Having thick skin helps.

I am very busy today and wont be back till next tuesday. Let us know what your plans are and we'll attempt to be there for ya. Or come do Fordyce with us. Either way, lets try and hook up soon. Nov 1. Fordyce cleanup run? We'll be there for that too.

Disclaimer: Loppy does not condone nor tollerate the misuse or abuse of hippies, tree huggers or worthless people. No hippies were hurt during the making of this post.

Jason, I generally support the laissez faire let things be approach. But removing some of arguing I think makes a cleaner thread and is a good thing. My 2c

RPS and my dads club were just up there a few weeks ago. Check out my dad's club site, here's some decent pics with an idea of what you'll be dealing with.

The second (I think) pic is my black YJ on 38's and beadlocks on it's nose. A few pics later, that's Gatekeeper. It's the first obsticle and probably the one you'll have the most trouble with. After that, there's ALOT of wheel'n even a Subaru can handle. Enjoy

Jason,

You missed one on page 6! Errr...or is that one acceptable, it was quite emotional.

After going through this thread again is like watching Basic Instinct on Skinamax then watching the chop chop version on TBS.

Be nice and don't throw anything at me.
I don't know about a caravan. Haven't had any confirmations. Might just be a couple of us. We might be able to fly under the radar and avoid heckling.

DRTYFN 10-15-2003 09:09 PM

For those of you planning on going to the Rubicon, whether it be this weekend(hopefully) or some time in the future, bookmark this site:

http://www.rubicon-trail.com/Rubicon/index.html

It's a great source of info.

Meeting Friday at Loon lake trailhead at around 1pm. Then wheeling up to Spider lake to camp for the night.
Hope to see you there.

Cranky Steve 10-16-2003 01:26 AM

From a post by a local on a BB in Nor cal:

Just got back... saw no one on the trail but a couple people at little sluice. Then again we were there in the middle of the week.

Be sure to have the right sleeping bag/blankets.. it's in the mid/high 20s there now at night...

Also be aware there are Bears on the Con, and rumor is they were relocated from Yosemite, and are not terribly shy. Take apropriate precautions with food items etc.

Were expecting another beutiful weekend weather wise here in the Mountains, daytime temps should be in the 70's.

Buckeye Hummer 10-16-2003 03:19 AM

Cranky,

Nice suggestion on the bears. I just camped with my two daughters about 6 weeks ago at Yosemite. Freakin' bears everywhere. All night we heard the rangers popping them with rubber bullets and these things moaning, not to mention the one directly in front of my tent (app 12') that I happened to run across while my daughter had to take a leak.

If you don't know about bears read up on them. They are all black/brown no grizzlies like the ones that killed the guy in Alaska but they can still do plenty of damage if you corner them.

Man, that evil jeep knocked me over, really (don't believe me huh)

Yes, be very carefull with your food, the second night, a bear got my food, all of it, and then had the nerve to leave parts of it down the trail torwards rubicon springs. And the last night, a group across from us had a bear literally rip a seat out of a rig going after a can of nuts(next thing you know they will be going for the beer, lol)
