Re: My H2 Stolen
Just got off the phone with the whittier police dept. The ONE detective that handles car theft is off until Monday. So nothing is being done. :( Based on the original response time of an hour and a half, I'm sure that it's being handled.

So what are you suggesting us to do? Don't leave the key and give the dealer fake info when you drop your vehicle for service:confused: |

hahahahahaha! :D :D :D When I drop mine off, I even wear a disguise. When I pick mine up and use of those memory erasers from MIB. |

And you shouldn't give Whittier PD a hard time just because they took 1.5 hours to respond. Afterall, they knew right away who stole it and how they bypassed onstar. |

They pulled the same BS when I had my Tahoe stolen. I would get pictures of your vehicle and recipts of all acessories, etc. and give copies to insurance. They will try to low ball you, just prove that its worth more than what they say, meet in the middle, get your check, buy new hummer. I would get an aftermarket starter kill switch installed than notifies your key fob when the alarm is tripped. That way you can run out and beat the crap out of the assailant . The Tahoe was my third stolen vehilce, so I have become indifferent when it comes to vehicles. I realized they can easilty be replaced, and often I ended up with cooler vehicles afterwards. Soory to hear the bad news. |

Re: My H2 Stolen
An on/off switch along the hot wire leading to the fuel pump. I had one on a GM product a few years ago and it was just under the seat and easy to reach when exiting the vehicle.

Re: My H2 Stolen
Mike, the funny thing is how awesome everyone from the east coast thinks paragon is to go wheeling. Paragon is the size of a parking lot compared to what we got out here.
Thats why im here and not in NY. Now that im totally off subject ill just be out~~~~~~~~~~~~lol/. --John |

I wouldn't be surprised if Kbb value for my '06 was $25k (or more) less than it cost. Book value doesn't tend to reward you for mods and bling and all. |
Re: My H2 Stolen
i used to have a 240sx converted almost totally into a race car. The engine was so cammy it would lug under about 4000 rpm. It got creamed one day by a pickup and pieces of the thing were strewn up and down the street...
and they offered me something around $5000, which was Kbb at that time. That was completely horrid for me, as i'd spend $30k on the car (or more) in mods alone. By freak coincidence, i found a 240 listed on ebay that had very close to exactly the same mods, and the ebay listing had 1/4 times and so forth. I showed it to the insurance people and they paid me exaclty waht the car sold for on ebay. It may be helpful to try to track that kind of thing. What does a truck with whatever you had go for -vs- a stock truck. |
