Ouch, Looks like I skipped the right trail. What kind of injuires did the H3's have?

Wish I could have gone...I was even kind of torn in the morning when you all left, but went golfing and shot two over on the back nine.

Home now, had a great time, looking forward to seeing some more photos of Thursdays Seven Mile Rim etc, when people have a chance.

I will post what I got before my card filled up, later today.

Idaho-Hummer 04-22-2006 01:30 PM

Not to bring up a bad subject but what happened to the H3 out there that they both needed to be towed?

Crap, that was a long freakin' day........

Everything went smooth all the way the through the golden crack. We got all the 2s and 3s thru with no drama at all.

Then most of the carnage started.

The complete carngage list:
-3 busted tie rods - on ONE vehicle!
-1 busted Ankle
-1 big quarter panel gash
-1 overheated vehicle
-2 totally busted H3s
-1 snapped air sensor

At one point we had Adam repairing a tie rod on the front of an H2 while we were winching H3s up a nastly obstacle from the back of it. As Adam was laying under the vehicle (while it was running to fuel the winch) he was sitting in 130 degree heat while the H2 was sliding backwards from trying to pull Neo's H3 up a ledge. It was total teamwork and chaos at the same time.

Talk about an amazing day.... Multiple recovery/winching/towing maneuvers, trails repairs, strapping newbs and vets, and doing that last 4 hours in the dark. Un-freakin-beleivable and unforgettable.

Bottom line. We got everyone home and all will be well. The unfortunate thing is we don't have many (if any) pictures since we were all working our butts off for the last 7 hours.

Don't forget when the truck Adam was changing the tie rod on starting sliding while we were winching up the other truck and he yells out "come on guys!". It would have been a litle nerve racking being under there when it started sliding.

About 25 more feet and we are down.

Notice where the bottom is- you can see the tire tracks way down and over to the right.

Idaho-Hummer 04-22-2006 02:42 PM

I bet those seatbelts come in handy coming down, of course the pucker factor has got to be high as well.

Looks like FUN!!!!

It'a amazing what can be said of a group in a few short sentences.

I WANT TO WHEEL WITH YOU GUYS!!!!

I'll be there maybe this fall, if not next spring definitely.

CO Hummer 04-22-2006 09:45 PM

Dang, it sucked to leave today. But I don't think I'm going to miss out on a lot of wheeling the day after the 17 hr winch-a-thon.

I had a great time. All it took was this trip to confirm that I'm in for the next one! These trips just keep getting better....
