Jason,

You missed one on page 6! Errr...or is that one acceptable, it was quite emotional.

After going through this thread again is like watching Basic Instinct on Skinamax then watching the chop chop version on TBS.

Be nice and don't throw anything at me.
I don't know about a caravan. Haven't had any confirmations. Might just be a couple of us. We might be able to fly under the radar and avoid heckling.

For those of you planning on going to the Rubicon, whether it be this weekend(hopefully) or some time in the future, bookmark this site:

http://www.rubicon-trail.com/Rubicon/index.html

It's a great source of info.

Meeting Friday at Loon lake trailhead at around 1pm. Then wheeling up to Spider lake to camp for the night.
Hope to see you there.

From a post by a local on a BB in Nor cal:

Just got back... saw no one on the trail but a couple people at little sluice. Then again we were there in the middle of the week.

Be sure to have the right sleeping bag/blankets.. it's in the mid/high 20s there now at night...

Also be aware there are Bears on the Con, and rumor is they were relocated from Yosemite, and are not terribly shy. Take apropriate precautions with food items etc.

Were expecting another beutiful weekend weather wise here in the Mountains, daytime temps should be in the 70's.

Cranky,

Nice suggestion on the bears. I just camped with my two daughters about 6 weeks ago at Yosemite. Freakin' bears everywhere. All night we heard the rangers popping them with rubber bullets and these things moaning, not to mention the one directly in front of my tent (app 12') that I happened to run across while my daughter had to take a leak.

If you don't know about bears read up on them. They are all black/brown no grizzlies like the ones that killed the guy in Alaska but they can still do plenty of damage if you corner them.

Man, that evil jeep knocked me over, really (don't believe me huh)

Yes, be very carefull with your food, the second night, a bear got my food, all of it, and then had the nerve to leave parts of it down the trail torwards rubicon springs. And the last night, a group across from us had a bear literally rip a seat out of a rig going after a can of nuts(next thing you know they will be going for the beer, lol)
