"GM will announce Wednesday that it will offer all buyers the same discount that employees get, giving consumers nationwide thousands of dollars off the price of every 2005 car or truck except the Chevrolet Corvette"
I don't think they would give you the discount for the 2006 H3, I'm happy if I get MSRP as most of the dealers are charging 2k-5k over MSRP, which btw SUCKS! |
Does anyone actually know what the discount is?
|
The dealer has the price. It used to be a percentage but that has been changed a while back. Mid sized used to be 18% off base price and 18% off options, and nothing off destination charges. I don't know about dealer installed options if any off these.
|
it said 2005 vehicles... the h3 is an 06 it might be excluded
|
Builder what about like an H2 SUT??
|
The H3 will be excluded since it is a 2006 model--but there is a WIDE range of mark-ups on the MSRP...shop around, check other states even.
|
My family wont get an H3 until the end of the year, therefor the Slate Blue Mettalic and Superior Blue Mettalic should be available, also DVD Nav. and side impact airbags are going to be available. But the thing is if sales are doing well then will they increase the price?
|
I really don't think so, I'd expect some incentives by the end of the year... I've heard of people getting $500 - $1000 off MSRP already... haven't found out where though...
|
You might try this dealer:
Orr HUMMER 8750 Business Park Drive Shreveport, Louisiana 71105 318-798-7250 318-798-5571 http://www.orrhummer.com tbcarman@earthlink.com This is the Hummer dealer that most of the employee purchases will probably be made. The first one was sold here and he got his GMS discount. |
I work for Sewell Hummer in Dallas, and I delivered an H3 to Shreveport last week. I guess they had a less than perfect experience there, and decided Dallas was a better bet. If I were you, I'd talk to both dealerships, then decide.
|
Hummer Guy, since you work for Sewell tell Erin to give me the Supplier discount since I have that and I will split the difference with you two!!! LOL
Supposedly mine will be here this week, I will believe it when I see it though. |

I have access to it but it has not been listed on the GM Supplier Site yet. Thanks, H3Wannabe |
Wannabe,
It used to be an exact percentage, now its different on every vehicle, and the system requires a VIN. That's why I was curious to see what options BTB was looking at, then we could run a similar VIN for an estimate. |

I'm looking for a black on black lux series. I have a VIN (but left it at work). My dealership isn't taking supplier discounts. For the right price, it may be worth it for me to fly to TX and pick up one from you. |

Give me a call at 214-638-7528, or PM me w/ your info (I'm a little hesitant to put a supplier quote on a message board). This particular model was a black on black lux w/ brush guard, XM, and some others. Most of our LUXs are sold, but we have several black on black LUXs that have already been built, we're just waiting for them to show up. Each is equiped differently, though, and we don't have any that aren't pretty loaded. -Brian |
Just a dumb question. Can I purchase or lease from another state if I'm in Florida? Would I get killed by taxes or anything like that? I heard someone saying you needed a driver license for the state you buy in. How about tag and title?
Thanks |
The car will have to be titled in the state you live in. The sales tax, registration, title, would be in FL. The only fees added (if you're financing) would be the vehicle inventory tax (not very much, under 100 probably--don't quote me) a Document and Deputy Fee (55 bucks, we have a title office that would do the registration for you)...the only downside is that most likely you'd have to actually come out and sign the paperwork. Most banks require this. So really, you're looking at about 150 dollars, plus your Florida tax, title, license, and a trip to beautiful Dallas.

Thanks </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Yes, you'll let them know about the titling so you will have to pay sales tax in FL. Some places might try to force you into double taxation. You can buy one from here sight unseen and have it picked up or come get it. The local dealer here has sold a few H1s and H2s to out of state customers and I know where 1 Alpha customer fedexed all of the paperwork back and forth and he never saw the truck until it arrived at his house in Houston. |

That's for "almost all 2005 GM vehicles across all divisions"... Hummer H3 is a 06 model, therefore, excluded.
|
Guess I wasn't clear enough. I meant that I was confirming the discount was for other '05 GM models only -- therefore, the H3 would definitely not be included. However, it may make the H2 more affordable now for some buyers than before. That's all.

How much different would the employee discount be over a supplier discount?
|

That is what I was thinking. Since I just got mine last week, I was worried I could have gotten a better deal. Although I got my 05 LUX at supplier pricing. But an extra $1500 off would have been nice.
|
As soon as we found out at our dealership (the rumor started circulating late last week) about the pricing, we held off putting the paperwork through until we knew whether or not you could get the better discount. Where did you get yours and what day did you get it?
|
I should add on to that -- no one knew for sure until today.

Why buy a loaded H3, when you can have a base H2 for $6000 more?
|

Yea, dealer offered me a 03 black H2 for 40k. Only concern is how much I would pay for gas

If you want to talk with one of our finance experts, I can put you in touch...It all depends on how long the lease is for, how many miles, what you'd put down, a trade (if any), etc...
