We have the factory rock sliders. After being in the mud without flaps, it's MISERABLE. Are there any mudflaps that work with the rock sliders?

you can use the factory ones... even though it sais you cannot! There were earlier posts about this and other have done it.

Disclaimer: I have not tried it yet, so this is info from another post, not my experience.

Also, some have broken off their mudflaps due to mud/ rocks.

Yeah you can use the factory OEM ones they work just fine. I put a picture out there somewhere. Make Find your friend.

I think they are trying to tell you if you use your rock bars theres a good chance you will tear off the mudflaps. Yes they fit. I also put my tube steps back on under the rock guards with custom made brackets in almost the same stock location, 4 bolts and they are off.

I have both. I have not torn one or ripped it off, but I have bent them pretty good.

They are made of a hard molded plastic, so there is some give, not much though.

In real serious mud, they do not help. See black rock desert in the Local Events and Activities.

But, for keeping the daily splashing from making rooster tails down the side of your truck, they work great.

Please speak about those custom made brackets for your side steps....I was thinking of having some fabbed.

Is that set up like what the H2's have?

tmiller, can you post some pics as to how you did this. My sig other has the H3 and would like the option of having both.

I have a video where I smooshed them very good went on three wheels and they popped back in place just fine. I don't think it is an issue.

Im new to puting pics. on the computer. Maybe my kid can do it. Just take the mounting bracket and cut the end off that mounts to the frame and redrill the holes in the tube step that mounts the bracket to tilt it up to the rock bar piece that has 2 holes in it . Drill the bracket to line up with one of the holes in the rock bar and bolt it. That is for the front bracket. The back bracket you do the same but add an aprox. 3 inch piece of flat bar to tie them in. (because I mounted it by the flat step area) and at the very ends use a threaded bar and drill through both bars and tie together. To do the first side it took me about an hour and a half to figure it out then the otherside went much easer in about an hour. and it looks factory.

When you have found your photo, select it a hit Open.

tmiller, take a new picture with less resolution and it should be smaller and ok to post. I don't know why but it works for me.(my kid figured it out)

No worries, mine had to teach me...

just open the pic in microsoft paint and change the size by a percentage, then resave it.

Okay, so practically speaking how are they working?

I love the combo but would like to know if you plan to remove the step if you go off road? How many bolts per side and do they seem as solid when stepped on with two people? Any thoughts on using a dealer (if they would do it) to fabricate or would a good metal worker be sufficient?

Which other thread are they metioning in the previous posts? I will try 'find' as well. Great tool.

I would rather spend $100 on some flaps that work than having to pay to get both fenders repainted. Are there any custom mud flap companies out there?

I am thinking of putting the 3M Clear Bra on the flairs and getting the usky flaps. The GM flaps do not help much.

I disagree, the mudflaps are great. It's having expectations that will let you down.

I have a black truck, and for daily driving in Sunny CA, it is great for keeping sprinkler puddle spray off the sides of you truck.

It's all I need. I'm not expecting it to keep my truck clean when I'm playing in the mud.

X2! Black truck with 35's. They help quite a bit! Not 100%, but considerable.

Are they prefect, no. But they're a damn sight better than nothing.

forget the mudflaps, they do not work!!! They are a waste of your money, at best they reduce by 10% the amount of mud flying back.

Just my facts. I got the H3 without the mud flaps and those bulky fender things behind the back door got a whole bunch of scrapes and rock chips in them the first month. After the first month I put on the OEM mud flaps and in the next 7 months I don't have any new rock chips there. So I guess I am lucky that the 10% extra coverage protected me so far.

Hope I have as much luck as you. I didn't have any chips yet and just put my front flaps on Tuesday.
