NO way!!!!!!! is it your? a dealers? or you Stole it from GM? Do tell...
|
Son of a .....
|
Alright ClayDog - can't just post that and then not explain:
1) How did you get it? 2) How long have you had it? 3) Are you a dealer, GM employee, etc.? Also - please post some good pictures of the interior showing close-ups of the new ebony interior and pieces where the perforated leather has been used as well as the upgraded door handles/leather covering - and any shots of the Nav (if you have it) with different functions... Also - how about some pictures of how the mid gate works and actual size of the bed (put some stuff in there to show scale...) As a newbie you are obligated to do this - especially since you actually have a SUT and what seems to be a good camera... Thanks, |
1)work/testing
2)3 weeks/2500mi so far 3)no,yes Sure, I'll post more pics when I get a chance. A quick question, what kind of real world average gas milage are you guys getting? I'm doing a better than I expected, and throtle responce seems better than Hummers I driven in the past. |
Everybody is jealous -- thanks for the pics

Clay, you should have said it was yours. Dan would have dropped a brick.

Clay - thanks -
OK - so now post the pictures -you have already made us all jealous... Keep an eye on that gas mileage - any ideas of what you are currently getting? Has GM/HUMMER told you about any changes to the programming of the engine that would indicate a reason for improved gas mileage? Does the SUT weigh less than the SUV (enough to affect gas mileage?) Thanks!!! |
I think it looks awesome without all of the blinged out pics we have been seeing put out by GM! Sweetness! Congrats.
Well, I guess looking at more closely, it is the color matched grill that really pulls it all off. |
Sweet ride Clay!
|
COME ON WITH THE PICS!!!!
|
COME OOOOOOOOOOONN!!!!!!!!
|
Ok, Ok, LOL, I'll get some out tonight when I'm done packing. Monday or tuesday I'll have some 'action' shots for you
|
Sweet, thanks Claydog! Don't worry, Dan's now undergoing psychiatric therapy and is reportedly in stable condition.

Who's the midget sitting in it?
I just got 13.9 mpg on a 315 mile trip running on the stock BFG AT's. |
There's a cat in there too
|
LMAO,the midgets my nephew, and the cat's my dog.
Damm, DRTYFN, I thought I was doing good at 12.5 city/highway combined, although my only concession good gas milage was keeping it under 80 most of the time. |
I think the only way you can get above 13 mpg is with the A/C off. Heck, I have never even hit 11. Was your A/C off Drty?
|
Why does the SUT look small in that picture in comparison to the minivan? Something looks off each time I see it. Maybe the angle of the photo and the minivan being closer?
|
Minivan...MINIVAN...wash your mouth out with soap. Its the angle of the picture, the front tire on the ENVOY looks bigger than the rear if you look.
|
Yeah, what is that thing? An Xterra?

come on with the pictures finally! enough small talk! i dont even have one on order
|
The first thing I do when I start up is to make sure that the damn a/c is off. That compressor is a power-sucking hog.
I was really light on the gas pedal this trip just to see what kind of mileage I could squeeze out. I might have even broken 14 mpg if I hadn't stopped to check on the fishing potential of a couple of streams that have been calling my name on the last couple of trips. |
In that H2 commerical with Regis & the transexual model on a cruise ship, I always thought it would be a hoot to have Regis standing through the sunroof, holding a fishing pole, perhaps with a Marlin leaping off the ocean..

Here's a link to where my pics are hosted, the new ones are on pgs 2&3. Dan & Zing, I got the cat and minivan in one pic just for you two.

I think it would look better if it had the chrome grill...It could also use a nice waxing, doesn't have a very good gloss to it, might be the color? Anyway looks great, and the interior kicks some serious bootay.
|
Looks good ClayDog!
|
I agree 100%... the grill DEFINETLY needs the chrome plating. it looks very awkward. it was the first thing i noticed. the bed seems to fold down nicely though
|
Clay -
Thanks! Everything we asked for - much appreciated. Quick question - it looks like there is a raised area around where the midgate folds down - in other words - not a totally flat surface from the bed to the interior - True? Comments? Thanks again!! |
hummer17-
Your right, there is a step when the mid-gate is folded down. If I remember correctly, there wasn't enough room to package the mid-gate any lower, and raising the load floor caused more problems than it solved. I also added a few more pics |
Looks like you had some fun. Great pics. Pic 42... tell me you pulled someone out and that strap was not used to get you out.
|
Claydog, any reason they made the midgate opening 47½" wide and not 48"? I know that's a big problem for some people, not being able to lay a 4x8 sheet of whatever in there.
|
timgco,
We had a blast, I can’t say enough about the Kinzalows hospitality. About the strap, all I’ll say is the truck performed flawlessly, but the driver left a little to be desired. Dan, This is the first I've heard that the mid-gate is less than 48". I'll check when I get a chance, but it would surprise the hell out of me if it was less. That is something that just would not happen unless there was a very compelling reason for it. |

DAN,
I finally got a round to actually measuring between the wheel houses, your right it is 47 ½" at the load floor, but its over 48" at the hight of the folded down mid-gate. |
So the width between the wheel houses is 48" a couple inches above the load floor?
|
Ya, if you look at the rear view pic of the bed, you can see that the wheel house cover angles up at about a 45 degree from from the floor on the pass side, it's only 47 1/2" right on the floor.
