What kind of drugs are these T&A Girls on?

Up next......Lion's Back! Starring H2Rocks!

Mr.Bipolar 04-19-2006 04:06 AM

The terrain must have been UNSTABLE.

You really need FRIENDS to spot you because there is no room for APOLIGIES and FORGETFULNESS.

Was there any SWAPPING of ideals between the WIVES????

Must have been scary enough to put you on MEDICATION.

......What was the topic again????

Someone break an axle shaft?

Congrats CP </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

x2 on both the question AND the congrats!

Way to go CP!

h2co-pilot 04-19-2006 11:13 AM

Thanks Guys.

Yes, we think. The ((ABS)) and TCX2 light came on earlier on Hell's but we didn't know why. Everyone noticed the drive shaft not moving when I was tipped WAYTF up on my passenger side.

HummerNewbie 04-19-2006 11:30 AM

The T&A is kicking ass out there. Way to go!

Sorry about the breakage

h2co-pilot 04-19-2006 11:46 AM

Yeah, it's stuck in 4 low right now. There are a plethera of new noises. The front diff isn't leaking to anything of significance or that I can see at all. On the way down the rest of Hell's the Pass. front tire was rubbing way more on the wheel well/ fender flare than usual also.

The front driver side tire was not moving upon acceleration up there and the back tires were spinning and smoking up at the top.

We'll find out more today at the 4x4 shop. I remember running it a little hard on some significant ledges on a narrow part of Metal Masher on Monday. But the lights came on shortly before the hot tubs on Hell's yesterday. Weird. I guess we'll see. Phil I'm sure Ken will call you later.

HummerNewbie 04-19-2006 11:51 AM

Just make sure that Ken doesn't get another extended vacation or you two will probably never be back out there

Keep us posted, hope it is a simple fix.

h2co-pilot 04-19-2006 12:25 PM

Exactly like the cards in the bicycle wheels. But I 'm not worried about that. I know what that is.

I am hoping that it is not the t-case- obviously. It will not disengage the 4lo lock button- the 4hi will flash when pressed in neutral but will not engage. The gears on the asphalt coming back seemed to be slow or altered even considering it was in 4lo. We did it manually the last block.

But I am still hopeful that it is a computer issue- disconnections of sensors for the abs and ds tire causing it to lock in the current mode. Wishful I know- but t-case sounds worse than CV joint or axel shaft to me.

The boot on the PS front tie-rod has been cracked and the rubber accordion-like grease holder up next to the DS front tire (excuse the lack of tech term) is leaking.

h2co-pilot 04-19-2006 12:42 PM

I am going to fo in the parking lot now and try to push the two buttons to get it in neutral and see what happens....

h2co-pilot 04-19-2006 12:50 PM

It won't go into neutral. The ((ABS)) light and the (TC) lights are still on on the dash.

S

The the DS tierod boot is cracked on the top. Not a significant leak oe anything- just need a new one. Phil, if I will need one of those sent here if you could. Ken will call in a little while.

The accordion thing up against the PS front tire is the CV boot right? The one that is dripping green. I will go get some pics.

We are going to drive it slowly to that 4x4 shop in a little while.

Thanks guys.

h2co-pilot 04-19-2006 12:56 PM

No, but that is a good idea. Will do.

In the manual 3-34 the TCS (traction off light) is linked to the abs and could be because the sensor was disconnected or damaged.

That sounds like a blown CV, but that doesn't explain why you can't get the t-case out of 4Lo.

Is some going to take a look at it this morning? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>I am in the middle of looking this up but a thought out loud.

If the CV is gone and you are in 4 LO, the computer is not registering any wheelspin at the tire when it should be, so now the ABS and <STRIKE>TC</STRIKE> lights on the dash are on. Maybe as a result of the CV being gone. So then, the Electronic Brake Control Module is telling the Transfer Case Control Module to not allow any shifting.

Fubar 04-19-2006 02:24 PM

Damn CP & Ken sorry to hear you're having trouble again. Hope it is nothing to serious and you're back to wheeling. CP Congratulations on the ownership of Escalator

BebeDaddy 04-19-2006 02:25 PM

All hail the Queen!

All hail the T&A.

You can all pledge here: http://elcova.com/groupee/forums/a/t...1/m/2621078671

HIHUMMER 04-19-2006 02:43 PM

Keep Kicking A$$ Queeny!!

Ompus 04-19-2006 02:47 PM

Wow.. All I can say is congrats on the Escalator! Haven't been there myself, but it doesn't look easy.

In regards to your "breakage", congrats on that to.. Most Hummer owners will never do enough serious wheelin to break anything! It sort of like a badge of honor in my opinion.

Maybe put a small photo of each part you break on the side of your truck? Maybe also a photo of a little Jeep for everyone that you tow?

Hollie, this has played now. You can feel free to quit.

Ipedog 04-19-2006 02:58 PM

Hang in there CP. I hope BN is easilly fixable and you guys are back out there soon!

I heart the heavenly T&A Moab A$$kickers! You Girls Rock!

h2co-pilot 04-19-2006 04:05 PM

Well, we took it in and they have the stuff locally here to fix it. Most likely the CV joint. They didn't look at it right away- so I am dreading a call that says "Well we got the cv on but...."

They said it should be done today. Which is fugtastic!!! They aren't busy and everyone is doing their extracuricular activities today i.e. golf, horsebackriding etc. We should be all set for tomorrow's wheeling.

I was in my jammies most of the morning so I didn't get out to the parking lot to take good pictures of the carnage.

I obviously didn't get pics of Escalator on my camera but I'm sure some will come soon.

HummerNewbie 04-19-2006 04:11 PM

Good to hear. We will all keep our fingers crossed that is it.

I called an talked to a H2 tech and he can't see how the two are tied electronically. Not being a big believer in coinkydinks I just can't reason that the two aren't related.

But there is a Transfer Case lockout feature that is controlled on the Transfer Case Control Module. The TCCM controls everything to do with the t-case and is tied to the Class II. I'm thinking maybe the BCM is telling the TCCM to engage the lock out feature which will not allow voltage to flow to the t-case actuator thus it won't shift out of 4LO.

All that said, once the CV is fixed and it's driven around a little to clear the code, I'm thinking the t-case should then shift out of LO.

h2co-pilot 04-19-2006 05:37 PM

That's what I am hoping.

It says why they are related in the manual on pg. 3-34. Due to what- I forget. The manual is in the truck- in the shop.

MarineHawk 04-19-2006 05:51 PM

We've got our fingers crossed. Good luck.
