Please help. I just got my hummer. As you can see in the picture I got it from NFL player Dante Hall of the KS City CHEIFS. It currently has 24" wheels on it and I purchased stock takeoff's from my dealer for $795 yesterday (still has tits on tires).

I want to change the 24's to the 17's tomorrow, but my floor jack only lifts 6-21 inches. This does not seem like high enough to put on the stock tires (make the car about 4" higher than the 24" wheels do.)

PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR SUGGESTIONS!!!!

USE YOUR JACK AND A PIECE OF 6X6 TO TAKE OFF RIMS..........SOFT.....

If I were to buy a new jack....what would i need it to lift to? Or does everyone here either

A: use the jack that comes with the truck
OR
B: Use some sort of spacer between the jack and the floor as softtailjc mentioned

Ugh, Newdl, what Para said has some merit. If some things are beyond your knowledge (especially if that thing involves 8,000lbs of steel, plastic and rubber ) -- seek pro help. Won't cost you more than $100.

Why do you need to lift the truck more than 21" to swap the wheels?

You can use the stock jack...

If you are going to buy a jack, get this one:

I have one on my roof. Many of the folks here that off-road have hi-lift jacks.

Be damn careful jacking up your truck. They are very heavy.

I had an incident with a jack last fall that sent me to the emergency room to have my lip sewn back togther...

I put amps and in inverter under the back seat so it won't work in my truck anymore (so I can't do a picture you....) right now my Hi-lift jack is up on the Gobi rack...

I would go with a 60" Hi-Lift Jack, to jack up your truck. If you have jack stands, you could also use them for extra security.

That truck appears to be lowered...if this is the case the stockers may not fit.

newdl-- Like paragon, i am also being serious . If you cant figure out how to make your jack lift the vehicle , you should be very careful because you are not qualified to change the tires. I am not being a ******* , but i am probably saving you from damaging yourself or the truck. Good luck

I have 8 cars. 3 of them classic (1954, 1961 and 1980) I can do work on cars myself. I have yet to get my HUMMER back from the undercoater to even try a jack on the vehicle (I also have only had the truck at my home for 24hrs before it went to the shop). It was a simple question as to if anyone uses a similar jack. I appreciate your genuine concern, but if I had the vehicle I wouldn't ask the question. I want to get the vehicle back, change the wheels and get it to the dealer for warranty work all in about 1.5 hrs time. This was an attempt to be prepared.

How much play the STOCK suspension has Directly relates to if this car can be jacked up using my jack. Something I would not know if I didn't have the car HERE. (VOL)

Suspension play has nothing to do with jacking it if you had half a brain. You did say you had a floor jack. One would naturally assume if you had it you would know how to stick the sumbitch under each corner and flop the tire/wheels.

I hate to say this but I agree with most of these guys. If you're asking such a simple question (regardless whether you have the vehicle in front of you) then I'm not sure you're capable of doing the job correctly. If you have 8 cars, surely you're mechanically inclined to figure out what is needed.

Since you don't have the truck in front of you, I don't see what kind of answer you honestly expected. You know yourself that you're going to have to wait until you can see how the jack fits underneath the truck.. but of course, you already knew that.

No flame but it was a ridiculously simple question.

It would seem to me you are having issues with your caps lock key. I would offer you advise on how to remedy it but seeing that you have yet to notice the problem and correct it yourself I don't think you possess the skills to do it on your own.

Sounds like you are turning the key in the wrong direction... Try turning it the other way.

I've been sitting here for hours with no luck. Where in the hell were you at 5 when this all started? Well, I got it started but now it won't shift at all. I push the button in and pull back on the handle but...nothing. I'm starting to get a little dizzy, should I open up the garage?

You should have been pushing the BLUE button in...

It's almost like there's some kind of lock that won't let me shift when the engine is running unless I do something else.

Screw it...out of gas now. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. I've driven at least 8 other cars in my life though. You'd think I'd know what I was doing.
