I looked at a 06 H2 LE today. The interior had black graphite all over the dash and center console. NOT the grey graphite we have all seen but a color that looks like black laquer until you look close. Anybody else seen it? know where I can get it?

YIKES!!! I don't like it THAT much! But thanks for linking that.

rocketw19 01-10-2006 06:04 PM

you can get it from your dealer. you just need a LE vin# my parts guy is gonna take the number off the showroom florr LE and use that. i only want the front pieces i think 5 of them and its only around $500

CONRAD II 01-10-2006 06:29 PM

I'd really like to see what that looks like...pics???

KenP 01-10-2006 06:30 PM

Have you looked into having your dash painted?

Racer-X 01-11-2006 12:58 AM

Rocket - Thanks - $500 is doable.

Conrad - no luck on the pics (though I didn't search long) Maybe I'll just go snap some when I pick up my rig. I see your SUT is black, The combo would give you a blue veiner for sure!

Ken, I did consider that actually. Even b4 I saw the LE's dash. My paint is white. I've been wondering how it would look white as opposed to black. I saw a yellow H2 here somewhere and it's dash was yellow. It looked awesome. Not sure it would have the same effect in white.

rocketw19 01-11-2006 01:28 AM

im in the same boat as you my sut is white also and my friend owns a body shop and wants to paint it white but i think the carbon fiber look will be more classyer! but thats just me.

Alan06SUT 01-11-2006 03:18 AM

I saw it today at the dealer. I noticed the interior pieces. They looked almost like fake carbon fibre to me. But, I was just peering through the window. I saw that the fender and body flares are diffrent and they had a diffrent step attached to the built in slider. The sticker price was like 70 something??? I didn't think it was that cool overall and the front brushgurd looked plastic ish to me. Whatever floats your boat just my opinion.

Racer-X 01-11-2006 03:53 AM

Actually I do like it Alec. Anything is better than stock. It's the one thing I donlt like about H2, They look a little cheap inside. I guess most cars do these days.

Boss Hoss 01-11-2006 03:57 AM

Ive seen molded pieces(not stick on) on ebay before and im thinking it was around $500 but it came in options other than carbon fiber. Personally carbon fiber reminds me of a teenager but i think the black woodgrain that comes in the Denali would look great with the 05-06's black interior.

Racer-X 01-11-2006 04:05 AM

I've never really cared for the carbon fiber either. But this is different. It's so dark you have to be in the hummer to realize it's not black laquer. Hard to explain but it looks really nice.

Boss Hoss 01-11-2006 04:05 AM

I found it:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIte...E%3AL%3ARTQ%3AUS%3A1

Perhaps i was wrong about it coming in other syles. Seems like this may actually be from an LE.

Racer-X 01-11-2006 04:16 AM

hmmm, I donlt think thats it. Winning bidder is H2Finally - undoubtedly the same one that posts here. Maybe we could ask - lol

I just did a longer search and found nothing. I hope to take pics tomorrow however I don't know how to resize them for posting. If someone offers I can email them and let them post them.

H2Finally 01-11-2006 04:40 AM

Yup, that's me . It's actually a semi-rigid molded cover that goes over the stock pieces. Not real carbon fiber, but a HUGE improvement over stock. Similar to Alec's posted above, but cover 100% of the trims.

Fyi, I have never seen molded H2 interiors in any patterns (carbon fiber, wood, brushed alu, etc) for $500. Imho, the kit I won was a steal. Perhaps I'll post some photos when I get around to cleaning my H2 enough to be able to mount the kit!

HummBob 01-11-2006 06:13 AM

H2Finally, you won that one!! I won John's other one as I'm more of a Chrome kinda guy.

I had John e-mail me closer pics before I bid. Very Sharp

BTW, the CHEAPEST I've ever seen the Molded Dash's has been $750, for ONLY the front 3 pieces.

Here is some quality work that should not be a real carbon fiber, but at least looks good to me. I've been looking into those. Not yet have I found a molded from a trustworthy provider. Real CF is gonna cost you like $2k-3k easily. I do too like ones with limited number of pieces like front dash and middle console only.

There are different kits out there, here is one that is molded but still is adhesive applied.

This is the molded dash that is done by exchange, parts have to removed and sent in for a core return. Higher quality and "anticipated" to last longer but about double the cost.

Photogensis??? I love it when they try to use big words...and misspell, and misuse, it in the process. LMAO!

KenP 01-11-2006 06:47 PM

Painting them your color choice still seems the most obvious.

Racer-X 01-11-2006 06:57 PM

I think your right Ken. I wonder if I should paint my center white and see if I like it. If i do then finish it. If not paint it all black.

See how dark it is. In person it's even darker.

rocketw19 01-17-2006 03:36 AM

did you ask your dealer to get you some? my parts guy says mine are on the way.

Racer-X 01-17-2006 03:47 AM

Not yet rocket. Going to ask friend to pull some strings. He worked there for years and is still tight with some of the guys in parts.

can I ask what you paid?

HummBob 02-01-2006 06:32 AM

There is a set on sale on E-Bay for anyone interested
