I'm torn to pick which tire is longer lasting... and has an overall performance with snow/rain??? Any help from you guys/gals would be great!!
Also, if you like the the Toyo Open Country, does anyone here in Chicago know where to find them? There was a post earlier that some place in Washington had a ton of them. I called them last night, and they do have them.... but, they won't ship to Chicago!! ![]() |

discount tire is where i bought my grapplers...toyo was b/o and too much $ for me in a 20".
|
i just got the nitto mud grapplers, they look cool as a mofo but theu are loud i grew up with mudders so im cool with it i guess, i still havent taken a long trip but i still know what to expect anyway, the toyos are the most logical choice and they will definately last longer too i think im gonna get a set of toyos when i sell my stock tires, i havent had a problem in the wet road yet and in the snow the grapps were cool

What size do you need?
There are several sets on ebay. 35/1250/18 37x1350x20 35/1250/17 35/1250/20 They are pricey, but available. I just picked up a set of 4 slightly used 90% tread Toyo M/T 37x1350x22 for $1k shipped off there. I lucked up and found a new 5th tire in FL for about $500 shipped. The tires have been backordered at many places since November of last year. Anyways, good luck. |

BTW, I'd love to come up to Tellico ORV Park, what are the dates? Not sure if I can make the next one, but when I get off convolescent leave in a few more months and return to DC, I'd love head down your way. |
Ive heard too many good things about the Toyo's to consider the Mud Grappler. For me the fact the Toyo m/t performs well, looks great AND is quiet sells me. Unfortunately the Toyos were on back order when i ordered my wheels and tires but guess what my next tires will be?
The planned Tellico trip is the weekend of March 10th. A few people are planning on wheeling (i think Paragon and KenP) on Friday with the bulk of the group wheeling on Saturday and Sunday. I think we might just have room for one more ![]() |

I have the Mud Grapplers, but my next set of tires, which will come all too soon due to the fast wear rate of the Nittos, will be the Toyo M/T or BFG M/T. I travel way too many pavement miles to be running the Nittos.

Boss Hoss, does Toyo make them in 35-13.50x20? I think this is what you & I would want for our 10" wheels.
I have not seen them, but have seen the 35-12.50x20. |

I really like the look of the MG's, and considered them myself, but knew of at least a couple of people who could not get the 38's balanaced. So went with the MT's and have been very impressed with them. Excellent on-road manners and great off-road, easy to balance, quiet and wearing well. The MG's will be very noisy. </div></BLOCKQUOTE> i've had the opportunity to ride in an h2 with the nittos and they are definitely noisy. sounded like i was in a prop plane with the humming coming from them. phil, we've got these new weights that incredible. instead of solid pieces, they're tubes with beads in it where the weight shifts and flattens itself out so that the weight is evenly dispersed. it's much better because it'll actually spread itself out to even the distribution in accordance to speed so it's always balanced. |
