Guy gives finger, gets pulled over...

You know all the times you say "Man, where is the cop when you need one." I was in Old Town, Fort Collins, CO making a U turn. For those of you that are not lucky enough to be in Colorado, fort collins old town is a "party town" Very similar to pleasure island in disney. 30 Bars/clubs in a town square area type thing. Very Fun.

Anyways, was making this U turn on Friday Night as the light for the side of the road i was turning into goes green. Some kid in a honda aparently had to floor his throttle off the light and then slam on his brakes and horn as I wasnt done with the u turn yet. Aparently he was in a major rush. As I complete the U turn he flys by and gives me the finger. What he didnt realise was that there was a police car directly behind him. He gets pulled over. So I pass him with a smile. I stop up the road and park. I walked back to check on the situation.

Aparently it is illeagal to "provoke" a driver (giving the finger, honking, yelling at them). So he gets a ticket for that. Then he is given a breathaliser and he was aparently .11....just over the legal limit, so he is arrested. The cop asked me why i was watching this and I was like "Oh, I was the one that he was shouting at and giving the obsene gestures to". The cops exact words "Nice H2, I have an 05 just like it.". I asked what was going to happen to the guy in the car and he was like "This guy is a jerk, he is going to jail tonignt."

Then we chated for a while about places to go wheeling and such, while the jerk sat in the back of the police van.

Awesome. Had to share that one.

Cool...
Illegal in TN to flip someone off too, even if the intent is to flip off the vehicle and not the driver.

Here in Mexico, the only reason they ever pull anybody over is if they think you have some money to share with them!
In order to keep sane in town and on the highway, I have to assume that they are all medical professionals speeding their way to the emergency room to save someone's life! Otherwise, I would get all pissed off about the way people drive around here!

I heard or read that if you shoot the bird inside the vehicle it is not against the law because it's protected against the first amendment but if you shoot the bird at someone outside the window it is because it is an illegal turn signal.

Anywho, the A - hole got what he deserved.

I'm in the field... (rather not say what city in Colorado.. but its a busy one).. Anyways.. I've written people for that violation (finger).. It is a stretch for a harrassment charge (works).. But I like to write em for improper hand signal given.

Should I give them a description of your snowpants? You might get cited for improper bulge signals.:D

not for spotting badly but definatley for wearing bright orange pants:rolleyes:

and doesn't the person driving have to be listening to and following the person spotting for it to be considered bad spotting...;)

Hey, Lance, I live right next to Nuevo Laredo, I don't think an H2 would survive there for too long. There's about 5 car jackings a day, not to count the auto thefts. I'd also be afraid that the AFI might take a liking to my H2. I'd say it would be suicidal to drive around in an H2 in Nuevo Laredo, so when I go there I take my 93 nissan. Congratulations on your H2 in Cabo San Lucas. :)
