Suggestions for dogs in the H3

I have a Chow-chow mutt, he weighs approx. 85 lbs. He has a hard time getting in and out of the H3. I am looking into some type of ramp system or something similar that would work. Anyone has any suggestions?

Bet some dog in heat scent under the seat would get him moving on up into the truck with no problems at all...

I bought my 3 for my Border Collie, for his last last few months with us. We bought a ramp on line (we Googled it)that folds up and made out of hard plastic with traction. About $150.00 I think it was.

Here's my happy dog on his first trip in the H3!

His only complaint was there is no heated seat in the back!

You mean the "hot doggie seat" isn't an option? How's the puppy been? Haven't seen either of you since Texas Canyon back when you had your Jeep. Do you still have the Jeep? How bout the girlfriend with the Vette? I'm putting my CE up for sale this week if you guys know anyone that's looking for a C3.

Here is a picture of my dog.

I am looking into buying that plastic ramp. I saw one at Petsmart the other day but I wanted to check to see if there are other options.

Re: Suggestions for dogs in the H3

It may be easier for your dog to jump in through the back door?

Maybe a milk crate or step stool would help? Or make a ramp the hooks into the trailer hitch?

Is your dog old or heavy or both?

My dog can jump into the back seat but sometimes slips on the metal sill.

I lift him out of the H3 most of the time since I had a dog tear an achilles tendon on his front paw (no fun).

My dog can jump in and out thru the back door. But I would rather not have him do that since he falls down so hard when he jumps out and sometimes when he jumps in he barely makes it.

I was looking into getting something like this:

I use a web hosting site, such as photobucket, shutterfly, or yahoo. I load pictures I have in my computer thru these sites to post them in the forum.

I to have had trouble in the past with pic's, but it was due to my files being to large and not this site. Yes you can use, Photobucket, Yahoo and others. Or you can go to www.zdnet.com and download a free photo manager from the download link there.

Sombrero is on the bed 17 years old, He is why I have a H3. He was to old to stay ballanced on the back seat of the Ram. So I bought the 3 for him to ride in. He loved it and enjoyed it to the end. He is gone now but will not be forgotten. Like everyone else here that has lost a pet, they will never be forgotten. The small dog is Black Dog, she thinks she is the **** when she goes for a ride. Oh yeah K9sH3 = dogs H3.

Target sells doggie stairs. I guess my dog has WAY too much energy. All I gotta say is "wanna go" and she's at the damn H3 door before me. In she goes with one leap.
