Shackle lift and quick disconnects

So here?s my take on the shackle lift and quick disconnects. I?ve been tracking down and putting together a list of the parts for awhile. Finally got everything and put it on this afternoon. Here?s what I used:
Shackles ? Warrior YJ rear 1.25? lift, part #WAR123 ? www.warriorproducts.com These are 6" hole-to-hole, about 2.5" longer than stock. You can see how much beefier these are than the stockers. I actually bent one of the stock shackles at some point. Didn?t even notice until I took them off. ![]() ![]() Bar Pin Eliminators ? Rocky Road Outfitters - http://www.rocky-road.com/zjbarpin.html I wanted to match the rear shocks to the front but Bilstein doesn?t make the 5125 with a barpin. The BPE also moves the mounting point down about 1? to compensate for the shackle lift. Attachment 42192 Swaybar Disconnects ? JKS Quicker Disconnects, WJ 0? lift front, part #3100 - http://store.jksmfg.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=QRDISC&Store_Code=JKS01&Catego ry_Code=Swaybar_Disconnects You can adjust the length on these and at their shortest are around 1? longer than the OEM endlinks. Attachment 42193 Shocks ? Bilstein 5125, part #BE56248H5 - http://www.bilstein.com/offroad_5125.php These have 10? of travel and are valved the same as the Cognito/Bilstein front shocks. |

The install on all of this is pretty straightforward so I?m not going to bother going through all the steps. But here?s a couple shots of everything installed.

Hey who said we could'nt find parts for the H3? Is the 11 degree swivle of the connectors enough? I remember IPE needed washers because his connectors didn't have ball joints and because of this couldn't handle the angle without washers. Yours has some type of ball joint right? |

I think they'll be fine. They have spherical bushings and have a collar at one end for the offset. They bottom flares out maybe a couple degrees. If becomes a problem I can always grind down the collar to get the endlinks more vertical. They are also greasable, so that will help with wear. BTW, the stock ones weren't vertical either. They flared in at the bottom a couple degrees. |

Sewie, Any updates on your improved flex??? Did you have any problem with brakelines or ABS not being long enough for increased droop???

The ride is much better, on and off road. I haven't run with the swaybar disconnected yet (no need) but there's still a noticeable increase in flex with it connected. I didn't get any pics on the last trip (never bothered stopping to pose ;) ) but I'll try next time out.
Now I just gotta install the new t-bars and level it out again. :D |

I have the same disconnects. Copy pasted it from Sewie. They look great, work great and give you lots of flex even with them connected. My jack could not get the tires off the concrete. You must pull the the ABS wires from the plug in the fender wall. Otherwise the flex will break them. I noticed this when jacking up the rear tires.

About the purple cranium, it only protects the back of the differential. Is this the most vulnerable spot? What about hitting a rock on the front of the diff, seems like you would hit the front more than the rear. Man, those fox shocks are sexy!! Did you only get the fox shocks for the rear? Hellwig sway bar is 1 1/8 inch. Supposed to be stiffer because it's a little larger. Helps a little. I got it just to help body roll a little. It is not real extreme and I don't drive fast... I have a 3.7. I need to charge up the pressure on the rear shocks. The leafs on the H3 are a little soft imho. Fox up front, too... with the SAW torsion bars. Shocks up front could use a little more gas, too. Purple Cranium looks cool and will provide protection when having to back off a pile of boulders, I guess. There is supposed to be a new diff skid coming from Boulder. Also, I heard somebody is going to do a rear coil/link swap for the H3 rear.

I stumbled on the new differential skid on Boulder Accessories website.
Here is a thread I started about it. http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=30686 ![]() Very beefy, wish I could see the front to know if it is going to scoop up the mud. Don't know the price, but probably at least double what the spyder cover is. The plate looks cool from the back. |

Hey Sewie,
I know this is an old tread but am considering getting the setup you recomended earlier in this thread. Are you still running all the same products now and have you had any issues? Also are the fox shocks really worth all the extra money over the Blisten conoco? |

The only thing I've changed is I swapped out the BPE's for some JKS ones. I wanted to gain back some shock travel and the JKS ones mount closer to stock. I haven't had any issues at all, except for me not torquing some bolts tight enough. :o
Fox vs. Bilstein is a tough argument. They're completely different shocks. But I've been very happy with the Bilstein's and would get them again in a heartbeat. |

Sewie I know this is an old thread but what part number did you order for the JKS bar eliminator. I'm trying to piece this together.
