Party Food

So, we're having a big party at the house tomorrow and need some suggestions on what to serve. I told the whif to get peanuts, cracker jacks, big pretzels, nachos. You know, baseball food.

She thinks we need to serve an actual dinner. Great. So now what?

Hot dogs? Nah. I don't want to spend the game in front of the grill. I want to watch.

You should also serve brats, dogs, grilled philly cheese steaks sandwiches, jalapeno popper, french fries, sliced and chopped beef, ring bologna, satay chicken skewers, and chili rellenos.

Re: Party Food

You could do chili and a little serve yourself bar of fixings (peppers, cheese, sourcream, crackers), with baked potatoes, bread or salad- then have peanuts, pretzels, cheese, grapes or popcorn as the layout snacks.

I like to just have the chili on with a ladel, spoons and bowls near it so that you don't have to get up and serve and the clean up is pretty easy.

:)

Re: Party Food

You didn't mention the number of people...

BUT

Something that will catch your friends eyes is a "SIX FOOT SUB"

add to that whole KOSHER DILLS

a KEG or 1/2 KEG of "AMBER BOCK DRAFT" and ROOT BEER for the kids

IF a lot of people add to the above...

The HOT WINGS as mentioned (naked not breaded) and don't forget the celery and blue cheese...

for dessert...

ICE CREAM CONES and a FANCY JELLO THING...

for snacks do soft pretezels and mustard, pickled sausage, jerky and a cold vegie platter...

I PROMISE YOU IT WILL GO OVER GREAT...

Smoke some ribs for about 4-6 hours and you won't miss any of the game.:D

Buy some store made pasta and 'tater salads, put them in bowls and sprinkle some paprika on them and say, "Why yes! I did make it.":D

Now, if only I could get my wife to go along with that plan....

Re: Party Food

I'll probably catch hell,

Here is the fire department rib recipe.

I'll definitely catch hell for giving it out.

Season (you know, salt pepper, brown sugar, onion powder or garlic powder) and steam some (baby back) pork ribs (covered pot) in about 2 inches of beer for about an hour on the stovetop. They'll be just about falling apart. Place them on a hot grill and brush em with sauce. A splash of Cholula hot sauce goes really well with them after you cook the Bull’s-eye BBQ sauce.

Be prepared people will bug you to make them more often.

We love doing that one here, just without the dogs. Especially in the winter when it gets below 50. ;)

BTW, how'd our Rockies do last night?
