BEAR SIGHTING IN MY FRONT YARD!!!

I was sitting on my porch and I hear this sound I didn't know what it was so I stood up and this huge black bear stood up too 5 ft in front of me. I almost peed my pants I was so scared I slowly walked inside and called the local PD and they came out well as he pulled up on the sidewalk the bear had already walked off behind the neighbor's house, so he went and spotted it and the wood line and was walking away. So he gave me this # to the FL wildlife Association,so I called and the lady told me it could take up to 25 people to make a complaint for them to do anything about it. This is BS B/C now I'm scared to even get in mt car in the AM........I need Jamie By the way he arrived safely to his destination in Iraq I MISS HIM

I'm a lot more scared of coneheads than I am of bears. That's a fact.

You could always do what I do, when confronted with the same problem back in Alaska.

Fry up a pound of bacon and let it cool. Set the cooked bacon aside for later consumption. Pick a strategic location in your favorite neighbors yard to pour the spent bacon bits and fat! Do it a few hours before they go to work!

A hungry bear can smell that $hit a mile away!

Close the door and just listen up...you'll know when the neighbor discovers the bear!

Hmm, really they said up to 25 people, well if you don't live in a highly populated area maybe they legally cant disturb it unless its causing harm or built like a home on your property, i mean after all they were here first. Also I dont have bears but i sure as he!l have allligators, A LOT in the lake in my backyard, and i know if we spot one and we call up they remove it and place it else where. however most of the time we just let them be becuase they were here first, and they are not cuasing any harm to anyone, if you just leave it alone. NExt time get pictures.!

Actually black bear peppered jerky is pretty tasty! My favorite neighbor would thank me for it and most likely share.

SUGGESTION: Go to your local sporting goods store and find a compressed can/ air horn. They are loud as hell and should do the job!

Most of the bears that come around homes are looking for garbage/ food/ anything left for scrap for them. If you leave your garbage out or your neighbors do, start keeping it in the garage and out of site.. ask them to do the same.

Glad your other half made it there safely.....now tell him to get it over with and get back home safe!!!!

And when your 25 neighbors complain, tell them you won't stop until they call in a bear sighting. :jump:

I have to call BS on that one. You never even mentioned it in any conversation we have had. That would seem to be a major concern "if" my spouse were not around. By the way....how's JODY? Tell him hi for me. :)
