For those that are interested in off roading in Moab, please add your name to the list. We will be going in April before or after the Easter Jeep Safari. Dates and everything will be posted in a PM only. Consider that Moab is a very scenic place, so if you are a hardcore off roader or just like to do scenic stuff, there are all types of trails and things to do. This is not organized by Elcova or HUMMER. You are reasponsible for you, your vehicle, your passengers, and breaking/ fixing your truck.

For those that want to attend and plan to off road, off road susp w/ rear locker, UC protection, rock rails, and no steps are a really good idea!

End of Feb, we will start a PM. so come meet everyone and enjoy Moab.

I'm just starting a new job in DC so don't know if I'm going to be able to make it out, but I definately would like to be in the loop just in case my schedule opens up.

ShaggyX 01-31-2006 12:32 PM

You mean they allow H3's in Moab? What's next...s10's? Wait...nevermind.

why not , Moab is so over rated its crazy . There 4+ trails would be a 2 else where .

Kiraco 01-31-2006 01:18 PM

What do you mean over rated? How many times have you ran the trails there?

BABHUMV 01-31-2006 01:20 PM

I doubt that. It's all in the line you take, or don't take that makes the rating. I would stack Metal Masher, Pritchett Canyon, and Behind the Rocks against anything anywhere. The beauty of Moab is its diversity in difficulty though.

Grandman 01-31-2006 04:09 PM

beauty is in the eye of the beholeder . I dont like the desert , every thing looks the same . See the 1st mile you seen it all . Thats a matter of preference though .

Iv been to Moab , Slick rock ! about as slick as rough concrete . You can pull some wild angles with the traction there is there .

Take a boulder and put some mud on it and the challenge goes way up . Tellico trails in NC and Tenn for me thanks .

Its my oppionion rookies find Moab a challenge , If you have little off road experience you will enjoy it there .

Tower would have a better answer.

I want to see pics.

Grandman 02-01-2006 12:28 AM

IMO < theres the key , its my impresion of Moab .

Why do you think im an ass to give my impression of the place ?

You a little narrow minded ? your view or no view !

A trip through Canada with deep mud and hidden boulders to bite you may not be your cup of tea , Though it is mine .

I could post pics of Moab and many other places iv wheeled but im not inclined to proof my self to no one .

If some one requested photos of places iv been because there going there id post them .

timgco,

You know I’m in on the trip. So keep me on the list.

ketcat

As for the people who don’t like Moab, think it’s easy, ugly or whatever……

They didn’t have to post anything on this tread. Maybe they are just jealous that our $30,000.00 trucks perform much better than they expected.

Grandman 02-01-2006 02:24 AM

Hey paragon , Meet some one , then decide what type of person they are . Your immaturity is amazing . By the way you from around Paragon PA ? Paragon park is far more of a challenge IMHO

I too own the H 3 , its in pics if you want some proof .

Alec , i only made one trip out there so i did not run all the trails , I was there on an Easter safari week end with a huge group and ran 3 of the trials , The trails i was on were rated 3 and 4 according to the organizers of that event . I ran them in a 94 Grand with 2" lift and one locker . Certainly not a hard core wheeler to run there 4 rated trails with .

Potato salad hill looked like a real challenge in photos iv seen but i did not get over to it . Sorry it has been some years and i dont recall the names of all the trails , one started at the dump bump near town . One i think was called prechards or somthing of that nature . The last started in a park and wound down the the desert floor , when you looked back up you couldnt see the trail you came down at all . If you know the area well you most likely know the trails im speaking of .

HaHa! Ummm. We've heard that before. The classic "I've wheeled Moab but can't remember the trails" bull. Pritchett Arch? That like riding on country road. After the group finished with Moab last year we ran that trail like a Sunday drive. It can't be more than a 2 rating.

You are an idiot, Grandma. Anyone going to Moab, running the trails we've run, must be fully prepared for the possibility of body damage and pounding the crap out of the bottom of your rig. You give every newb the impression that they will cake walk everything. Sure, they will if they ride the easy trails like you did. I think you probably did Kane Creek on that third trip you mentioned. Years ago it was a 3 rated trail but wash out and heavy use has significantly increased it's difficulty over the last few years.

Since you are the self-professed "new guy", why don't you shut your hole and butt out if you don't want to be a part of it. Don't start with that "you guys are so close minded just because I offered my option" crap. Don't you know that everyone sees your intent is to look cool and try to impress? Sorry. It's not working, bud.
