Thanks for the deal, but this is too rich for my blood. I've seen some really nice looking racks for about half.

MyxH3 09-25-2005 11:51 PM

jkH1+H2=H3 10-04-2005 10:32 PM

because of how you contributed to my questions, and how well, your customer service is!! I can't go wrong. H-3 Source Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4churchill 10-10-2005 12:29 AM

you guys should jump all over this!!!!!!!

getting a GOBI is the single best thing I have gotten to date for my rig!!!!!!!

Crisco 10-12-2005 02:22 PM

For those of use who don't have an endless supply of money, this is considered Ridiculously expensive and $100.00 off does little to cushion the expense.

For me, there are many very nice looking racks that cost a whole lot less.

jkH1+H2=H3 10-13-2005 10:30 PM

yea, I agree, its out there in price and you could really put alot of other bling to the H3 with that type of Cash.
But the other racks ?? its not a GOBI!! Dude! Its Not A GOBI !!!

jkH1+H2=H3 10-13-2005 10:31 PM

PS: Bought the Gobi, Now I'm piss poor!!!

4churchill 10-13-2005 10:32 PM

jk smart move!!!

to the others wait until you have the cash for the GOBI...as we all know you get what you pay for!!!!

jkH1+H2=H3 10-13-2005 10:39 PM

I know!!! it was a smart move, Its all about the Gobi,!!! you either have it or you don't!!!!

Crisco 10-14-2005 01:35 AM

If you dig the rack and got to have it because it's a GOBI, then I'm real happy for the both of you. Hell, I paid extra for the gas cap cover mainly because it says HUMMER on it.

Don't get me wrong, this is a sweet rack, but there simply isn't enough KY in Dallas to encourage me to pay this much. I have to draw the line somewhere.

By the way, I have some beach front property in Arizona and would love to buisness with some of you.

crop000s 10-16-2005 12:27 AM

Anybody have pictures on an H3 with the GOBI H3 Standard Rack and ladder, looking for close up's of how ladder attaches and full pics all sides of H3 with rack rack. I gotta see this before I spend that kinda $$.

4churchill 10-17-2005 05:45 PM

Crop check their website gobiusa.com

Everone with a GOBI should pu tit in their signature line so everyone else knows the kind of following Gobi has

Crisco 10-17-2005 10:08 PM

You will never convince me to pay that kind of money on a roof rack, I don't care what kind of following they have,

If GOBI can get enough folks to pay that kind of money to make it worth their while, good for them, but I can tell you at least one person who will not be falling for it.

GOBI may be the GOD of all racks and I would love to have one, but over priced is still over priced.

Dagwood 10-18-2005 03:39 AM

just put the Steath on my H3 (Kick butt) you guys did it right!! no wind noise or rattle. can't say that about my other rack. <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by Jason:

What is the overall max height of a an H3 with 33" tires with the Gobi Stealth rack? I only have 78" of clearance in my garage, will it fit?? How about the standard rack?

Thanks,
-Jeff

Jeff, here are a couple of clearance heights for you. feel free to PM me with any questions.

Stealth rack is at 6'7"
Full Size Rack is at 6' 11"

Are you 100% sure that is the height of your garage door? That is really low. A stealth rack would be an inch too tall. A standard height garage door today is between 82" and 84" depending on trim. Let me know if you have more questions,
Tim.

JeffW 10-18-2005 10:43 PM

Thanks Tim. The garage door frame is about 80-82", but the problem is the door doesn't seem to open as far as it could. I was hoping to not have to deal with that issue, but sounds like I should see if I can get a couple more inches out of it. I'm sure if I had the opener professionally installed instead of doing it myself, all would be well. :-)

jkH1+H2=H3 10-20-2005 03:28 PM

The Gobi has landed, !! Its being installed as we speak, hopefully all goes well with no hang ups......... I'll submit photos when she's done.

DDWH 10-23-2005 07:25 PM

That looks sweet! It mounts into the stock gutters correct?

jkH1+H2=H3 10-23-2005 09:39 PM

Everything mounted into stock roof rack rails, no questions & no Problems, very well thought out!!

How did you run the wiring for the lights and do you notice much of an increase in wind noise?
Thanks
Greg

Wind noise isn't too bad. to run the wires you pop off the outside A Pillar moldings, air vents on either side of your hood and run the wires down the A Pillars to the engine bay over to your battery. The switches come in through the sidewall boot on the DR SD and run under your dash to wherever you mount the switches. the first H3 rack I wired was my sig. others and it took about five hours. Next one can be done in around 3 1/2. It's more or less just taking your time to neatly tuck wires and anchoring them. This was much easier than running wires for the H2 racks. The rear lights are pre-wored in the rack and stick out the front already, so you run those down the same way. Feel free to PM me with any specific Q's.
tim.

crop000s 10-25-2005 07:30 PM

Any pictures (close ups) of the ladder attached ?

jkH1+H2=H3 10-27-2005 10:27 PM

Sorry didn't get the ladder...Alittle excessive. Spent that money towards lights, much cooler!!

Huck BB62 11-09-2005 02:12 PM

Insane, I will not be buying a Gob rack unless the prices come down about half where they belong. In addition, they need a rack that doesn't encompass the sunroof at all. If a person doesn't want lights, what's the use of sticking a rack up there in the high pressure wind stream along the trailing edge of the window. Yup, I'll make my own.

And $299 for a LADDER!?! Man alive, I was born at night, just not LAST night!

fourfourto 11-09-2005 09:05 PM

If nobody bought them price would drop. I would like to get one without the sunroof opening that just covers the back.

Get on a ladder and check it out. Ours was behind the light cover.

I'm sure it will look great.

Huck BB62 11-10-2005 04:07 PM

I've got a plasma cutter, a TIG, and twenty years experience, wanna bet? Heck I may just make it out of aluminum. Maybe I can get my hands on some titanium stock, maybe stainless. I'm sure it'll cost less even then.
