Not too bad whites out, but I would prefer them in. Looks decent on pewter. How do YOU like it? That's all that really matters. The tire size, tread, etc look great!

Is that 20% on your front windows?

KenP 08-31-2004 04:58 PM

Looks fine to me. Of course that shiney stuff is going to fly all over the side of your truck. Get used to, I had to.

Longhorn 08-31-2004 05:04 PM

Love the tires. Great choice!

Get ready for your mileage to drop. I went down to 10-10.5mpg (about a 1.5mpg drop uncorrected). It takes a little more patience to get up to speed but the look, clearance and performance are definitely worth it.

Congratulations

The White's aren't bad. I will more than likely leave them out until they get scuffed and can't bring them back to white. To be honest about the windows, I'm not sure. they were already tinted when I picked up the truck.

PARAGON 08-31-2004 05:17 PM

No, no, no. White letters out went out with the '80s.

PARAGON 08-31-2004 05:20 PM

I make them spray my tires and trim before the truck is washed so all overspray is gone and it doesn't have the "wet" look. There also is nothing slinging up on the truck or attracting dust and dirt, defeating the whole purpose.

timgco 08-31-2004 05:32 PM

Longhorn, I put the hipertech Pogtammer on and corrected the tire size. The computer shows 11.4 Avg miles per gallon. that's 1 mile worse than before. That programmer made a huge difference, even when I had the 35's.

Paragon, Ken P, I have been using that tire foam and it dries in about 15 minutes. I do wipe off the tire for the most part after spraying. Haven't seen anything on the sides yet. other than the wax the detail shop got on my plastic trim after the last Moab trip. the dirt hides it good though!

Spike 08-31-2004 07:19 PM

I like the letters out also. They actually look better than I thought they would.

Justin kyle 08-31-2004 08:17 PM

Tires look alsome on your truck especially since I have the same color H2. I can really picture what my truck will look like with 37"now but why did you go with Mud Terrains over the Goodyear MT/R.The white letters look alsome out.

timgco 08-31-2004 08:46 PM

Justin Kyle, I gota huge deal on these tires!
I paid for four tires for the most part and got the fifth free with a no questions asked tire warranty with free balance at any point also. Since I take this truck off road and often knock the tires out of balance, it was the way to go for me.

Justin kyle 08-31-2004 09:06 PM

heck I would have hopped on that deal to I was just currious which was a better tire but there bot well known tire companys and tires. Looks great keep us informed on ride/ride noise and how they preform? Thanks

JustinKyle

They are both great tires as many here will tell you. Road noise is somewhat louder than stock. The sidewalls flex a little more too, so handling is not as good... but this things not a sports car.

Artie 08-31-2004 11:59 PM

good choice too

hipertech Pogtammer

Admit it friend, you were thinking about her "hip tech hog tammer", weren't you? It is OK, we all make mistakes like that when we have been drinking. Just be sure to kick it out of bed right away. You don't want to wake up with it.

Arizona Hummerboy 09-01-2004 11:48 AM

Tires look sweet How do they ride? And are they noise?

timgco 09-01-2004 01:16 PM

Ok Ken, you got me! Hypertech Programmer. There will be no wrong spelling from this point forward! I think I was just so excited to post a pic... because it took me ten thousand tries to get this done.

And Ken.... stop thinking about Jeep Chick. For everyone's sake I did not post the pic.

DennisAJC 09-01-2004 08:53 PM

**** they look nice Tim!

I've always loved the white lettering on my YJ but wasn't sure about having them on the Hummer.

Expect a copycat come Moab!

You've almost come full circle, Tim. Now you have an H3 Alpha pewter with the same rack. :D Almost twins!
