No need for a lift in order to run 37's.
If you're gonna lift it, for a little more, you might as well go with a 6 inch and 38's. IMO Ric-H2 |
i was told you can run 37's stock but i would think a little more hieght would look alittle better thats why i was asking about a 2 inch

I have a 4'' Rancho lift with 37's. I agree with Ric though: I somewhat wish I had gone a little higher (6 inches max). For the most part though, I'm quite happy with the height.

As for the 37's, they are correct, I run 37's without a lift and love the look. I thought about lifting my 03 when I had it. but one trip to Moab and decided to keep that center of gravity lower. if this will be for looks, Socrates has a great set up. From what I here, that lift rides very well for adding height. you could also add a couple of inches by different torsion keyes up front and bag spacers for the rear. That would get you your two to three inches of lift. |

I am curious to find out how it handles on the off camber and climbing situations. Still love that look though. ... if only my garage opening were higher... |
so is there any 2 inch lifts out there , dont want to go up to 4 inch , if i crankup the torsion bars it would ride stiffer so thats the reason for wanting a lift and that way it will still fit in my garage

6" FabTech
|
I put the Rancho 4" lift on my H2 and I am very happy with the look and ride quality. My friend installed the FAB Tech 6" lift, and his rides very good as well. We measured the two trucks side by side and the Fabtech lift was only 1" higher than the Rancho lift. The tires were both 37's, so it really boils down to preference of manuafacturer.

I'm fairly new to this area and I'm not even sure where to take it, to be quite honest. |
Soc...those tires almost look small with that lift! Amazing that the H2 can make 37's look small. Do you need to do any other mods if you lift? Driveshaft? Does a lift give you driveline vibes?

I know the kit required some light welding, but the dealership took care of everything. No vibration at all, and it rides quite well. -J |

i have the 4" rancho and 37's and love it, it handles all i can throw at it just fine.
|
Did any of you guys re-gear?? What was the best price on the lift? The dealer installed it for you?
|
anyoneelse know about a 2 inch lift that way it fits in the garage
|
Discussed regearing a couple of times.. (Eaton was coming out with 5:13). Most of the power loss is evident @ highway speeds > 80mph. Other wise didn't feel necessary. Now I have a 7,000# trailer to pull, thinking about supercharging to compensate..
|
yea but if you re-gear you will gain a lot of the power back....cheaper than going FI.
Edit: Or better yet do both!!!! |
Yeah, may do both.
Regearing would help more on the low end than @ the top. Truck has plenty of power under 50mph (Breathless performance package, powerflash programmer, extreme flow exhaust). Its driving 70mph in a 6,000 lb brick with a 7,000 lb trailer up hill that its lacking. Needs more horses for that Supercharging now, trade for duramax desiel in 2006. |
talk to Adam in co... he has the rancho 2 in with 37s and the thing is SICK
|
Interesting drmiles....I'm use to jeeps...and beleive me you really feel the difference in the low end once you go to 33's....you need 4.56 or 4.88 when you go to a 35's in a wrangler.
|
Yeah I agree both options would Increase my towing ability. My theroy is you can never have too much horsepower!!! So I'm looking into SC's now and regearing later if needed. Also want a front locker added when and if I regear.
It was suggested the 4:10 to 4:88 would not be noticeable. So I am waiting for the 5:13'S to come out. |
who is adam from co and how do i get ahold of him to find out where and what kind to get of this size

I like the lift but the tires look way too small. What the point of adding 6 inches but no larger meats? I know you didn't care for the ride with the Nittos but it just looks sort of unfinished.
I run the same tires you have with no lift or rubbing. I'm not trying to stir anything up. Don't take this the wrong way. ![]() |
As a matter of fact, today Toyo 38 MT's are being slapped on. I'll post some pics tormorrow. BTW...you are 100% right!

James-
Just when I thought you couldn't sink any lower into Blingdom, you go and to do some thing like this. . . AND totally redeem yourself. It looks much better. ![]() |
I was looking to buy the Sky Jacker because of no cutting or welding but it looks like Dr. Miles has the stock front end rack that I want to get rid of but on Salt Lakes and James they appear to have lost that can some one shine some help me out on this?
|
No cutting or welding on mine. Not sure what you mean about the front end but my stuff is stock. ???????
|
What do you mean by Stock Front end RACK?<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by 1BADH2:

Dr. I'm talking about how the front end dosen't sit level with the back.Mine is way off and just wondering if the lift takes that away?
|
Simply adjust the torsion bars upward. I think mine is too high in the front now.. those pics were shortly after I had it done. I noticed that if I added the winch it sagged even more, so I cranked the torsion bars a couple of turns.
However If I had it to do over I would go with the Fabtech lift and add upgraded trailer arms, instead of stock. |
