Hey hater, man.......we've never seen that before. In fact, there is no way that the owner of that rig is a longstanding member of this board and the only reason that video is on the internet is because he posted it here first.

stangclassic66 01-19-2005 08:07 PM

Yo, whatup dude? I just said I wasn't a hater. Why is it that you can't just comment on what happened. I've been thinking about buying the h2 for a while now and just stumbled upon this video on the net. I never even said that the person driving the hummer was a member. I was just asking whatup with hummer's equipment?

Dork! Go back under your bridge!

stangclassic66 01-19-2005 08:09 PM

Let me say this again, i'm not here to argue, i'm just posting what I found to find out what you guys think.

So the owner of the rig actually posted that clip here before? I'll do a search, i'm actually interested to see what the thread says.

E

Erik,

First of all, don't insult me by calling me a dude (look up the definition if you don't know what a dude is).

Why isn't that you can't do a simple little search on this forum to see if this subject has possibly come up before?

Besides, I was being sarcastic. The owner is a member and that was posted here probably at least 2 years ago. Go fish.

Spike 01-19-2005 08:18 PM

Hey Mustang boy,
Did you actually think you were the first person to uncover and post that video?

Mr. I - Man 01-19-2005 08:22 PM

Putang Boy stay off truck boards! Go back to the pavement and play with your little pony.

Yetti 01-19-2005 08:24 PM

Please Excuse my friends... They have this tendancy to "shoot it","then stomp on it", then see if its friendly.

I do have to say if you haven't been to this board, the Trolls swim deep and wide out here.

I would be happy to answer any questions you have.
I am on dial up so the vidio won't load here,so I don't have the ability to veiw it at this point.

Dang, I didn't post this to get everyone all butt hurt. Did a search, looks like the tie rods are the weak link of the H2.

Hey Yetti,

Thanks for the reply. It does seem some folks are a little quick with the trigger finger over here. I've been a member since the early release of the H2 and I don't wanna come over here to cause a fuss. Found this on the net and was wondering why hummer put weak parts in the h2, that's all.

Dial up? Didn't that go out with 8 track tapes in the 70's?

It's not like you're going to snap a tie rock going over a simple incline. Alec has admitted it was partly driver error. Every vehicle - even stangs - have weak points that will break if put under heavy stress. Half the board here has taken their trucks to Moab and the like and have never had a tie rod issue. I wouldn't let it be an issue in deciding whether or not to buy the truck.

Stacy

stangclassic66 01-19-2005 08:44 PM

Hey Stacy, yeah true, in all honesty, i probably would never put the truck in a rocky off road environment as it doesn't tickle my fancy like others. I do get a kick out of driving in snow and a little bit of mud, but snow is cool cause i don't have to wash the truck. I've got a 2000 Expedition by the way, so I do have a little bit of experience.

Kevin B 01-19-2005 09:07 PM

Why cant everyone just admit it. H2 tie rods suck. Ive seen bigger tie rods on sears garden tractors, sheesh. Does that make the H2 suck? No. It just means the tie rods do. Big deal, go with an after market set up

Yetti 01-19-2005 09:25 PM

How can I say this ...I break stuff.
I break lots of stuff, its my Job. I have broken stuff and scoffed at engineers who said it couldn't be broken.
I don't think any breakage is the fault of the vehicle per'say. the idea that you put stress on a part or parts is all in how you use the part. I broke the steering gear in my `72 3/4 ton pic'up backing in my driveway on pavement, as I backed in I hooked a rock about 8" tall, it snapped the tooth right of the sector shaft in the gear box. was it an inherent problem? I would think not! its just the use Vs, the vehicle.
I'll bet I could break a Tourag in half if given the chance

RasterMaster 01-19-2005 09:46 PM

Why is it that a newb would post that video as a FIRST POST? If it looks like a troll and smells like a troll....

HUMMERcustoms.com/TAZ 01-20-2005 12:21 AM

stangclassic66 You may truely be just inquisitive but just as a lesson not a lashing go in and introduce yourself first and You will not be immediately tossed into the troll pool. There are so many it isn't funny. There is a logical way to get the info, and this forum is loaded with as much as i have seen anywhere, you need just do it properly.
Good Luck and We Should Learn from Our Mistakes or We are Doomed to Repeat Them.
