In noticed that there are many pictures of 37 MTR's and some of the BFG MT's but not many of the Dirt Grips, so here is another close up..

Nice! I am thinking of going with those once I put on the 2.5" Skyjacker lift this summer.
Any rubbing that you have noticed?

Well, when I turn the steering wheel to the maximum, I feel like it rubs a little bit, but that's not a big deal at all to me. I am very satisfied with these tires and would recommend them to anyone. I'm sure the so called rubbing is not much different than a 37 MTR or a 37 BFG MT. All in all, a great buy.

Those Pj's really look good. Nice choice. 37's are defiantly the way to go.

Looks good!

Nice pink shoelaces...

alecs wife 04-14-2004 11:31 AM

Are those PJ's e-rated or d-rated?

urban-assault 04-14-2004 04:14 PM

This particualr size is D rated. I don't know why, but most of the other sizes are E rated. Even the 35/12.5/17 is E rated!

urban-assault 04-14-2004 04:17 PM

Actually, the laces are violet..

Hey urban-assault

Very nice - Did you do anything to your H2 after putting on 37" - such as speedometer - any computer stuff? Better put - do 37" tires require any changes to the H2.

Also what is the E & D ratings?

Are these good road tires? - wear and sound

urban-assault 04-14-2004 07:52 PM

I purchased the H2 Proflash Programmer and reprogrammed my H2's computer, including the speedometer changes for the 37's and other high performance changes. I had to input the tire diameter and the axle ratio ( 4:10 ). Now the speedometer is accurate to my new tires..

urban-assault 04-14-2004 08:17 PM

The E and D ratings are the load ratings. E has more of a capacity than D and so on.

Selecting an outstanding road tire was a predominant factor in my choosing the PJ's. I had read that BFG MT's were extremely slippery on wet pavement. The PJ tread has more of a grip on wet pavement than other tires such as the BFG MT , MTR & SSR.

The noise is sort of like a very light humming sound, but barely noticeable. No big deal.

Concerning wear, I'm pretty sure that they aren't going to last more than 20,000 miles, since most of my riding is on pavement. I love the tires though!

Buckeye Hummer 04-14-2004 09:55 PM

PJ's are great tires. I have video of PJ's vs. MTR's on same obstacles where the MTR's are slipping and the softer PJ's go right up the obstacle. Wear on the road is faster though particularly in the front with the weight and steering.

I'd like to see the video. What type of terrain was it?

ledges in Moab where the rear tires are just barely clearing a ledge while the front hits another ledge. The MTR's are harder and would spin before they got traction, PJ's no spin at all, right up and over with the exact same line. I think our tire pressure was about the same too.

Detonate 04-15-2004 11:40 AM

Both H1's?

Buckeye Hummer 04-15-2004 11:41 AM

right

how in the world this photos turn out so bad? cell phone maybey>?

urban-assault 04-16-2004 10:03 PM

I know!! They're awful! The pictures come from a really old digital camera I recently found in one of my drawers.. I didn't think they would turn out so bad..

Longhorn 05-10-2004 07:41 PM

Did you ever take any other photos with a better camera? I still can't decide between BFG MTs and the PJs. I would like to see some clear photos of your truck if you have any new ones.

How about on road/offroad impressions now that you've had them for a while. . .

Gracias

Buckeye Hummer 05-11-2004 12:36 AM

PJ's are better off road, sound better on the road but wear far faster than the MTR's. If you want to hit the trails with more success go for PJ's. MTR's are too hard and will chirp on the rocks.

urban-assault 05-13-2004 07:05 PM

I'll take some pictures for you with a better camera. I'll post them up by Saturday! Then you can meke your decision. Definitely the PJ's are much softer. When I hit speed bumps with the PJ's, the tires just flow over the bumps, in comparison to the BFG's, you could really feel a hard bump and the truck would bounce up. I'l post them within a few days..

urban-assault 05-13-2004 07:08 PM

On road, they are great. I feel no difference from the BFG AT's, only a bit noisier that's it. Off road they are great too and they never seem to slip, they are definitely more versatile than the BFG MT.

It\'s a Dry Heat 05-20-2004 09:32 PM

Will they fit on stock wheels? pj37 12.5 17 Thanks!

Longhorn 05-20-2004 11:11 PM

Yes they will. . . as do the 37' Super Swamper SSRs, 37 MTRs, 37 BFG MTs.

urban-assault 05-21-2004 07:12 AM

I'll get those pics up soon...sorry
