wilfred 03-12-2006 03:39 AM

Wow Nice house! A place like that in SoCal will cost 5 times as much if not more. Too bad I have no business to be over there otherwise I'd buy it!

RIC-H0 03-12-2006 04:14 AM

Thanks...I designed it myself.

It's a shame I gotta sell it, but I've moved on, and it's gotta go!

I'm finding out that housing in Virginia is not so cheap either!

CO Hummer 03-12-2006 08:01 AM

Dang RIC-HOmeless, you're selling everything lately.

RIC-H0 03-12-2006 01:20 PM

Forget phone calls...I'll have them show up at the house looking for him!
Asking if he can come out and play!

Housing is not expensive at all in S.A.
Wish I had that problem here in Va.!

Ric-Ho,

You think the housing market is different... Wait until the state of VA gets a hold of your pay check If that isn't enough, Dec. 5th if I recall is personal property tax day. Everything you own get's taxed right before you have X-mas.

Been there, done that & the state got my t-shirt...LOL

Great!
Thanks for the warning!
How do they know what your personal property consists of!? Will all my toys get taxed? ie. ATV's, bikes, trailer, vehicles, tools etc. or is it just the stuff I have to get a license for?

I thought we got rid of taxes like that when we dumpped the Tea!

Ric-H0

2-H2's 03-12-2006 05:36 PM

yes...yes & yes...everything you own; boat, motorcycles, atv's, etc...will get a BIG fat tax from the state boyz!!!

2-H2's 03-12-2006 05:47 PM

Thanks for all the nice comments!
I've gotta admit, the highways are nice, but so are Texas' Hiways!
I can handle the Tax on my paycheck. I'll just claim my 10 children , open a medical spending account, and dump lots of $ into my 401K and IRA!
How can they tax you on stuff they don't know you have. I understand I have to register my trailer, Car, and motorcycles, but do you have to register ATV's, and home equipment?
Do they get the info from your insurance agent, or is it just the stuff you are still paying on!?

2-H2's 03-12-2006 10:47 PM

Ric,

Anything you plan on putting on the road with a plate...even off-road vehicles will be registered at the time of purchase. I moved out 15 years ago, but I doubt they changed any taxation laws since then I've never heard of them reversing them! Have you???

Other than that VA is a great state...I spent20 years there LC

I'm looking forward to spending some time in my new home state!
Thanks for the heads up on all this tax crap!
I think I'll manage to survive, as long as I can handle the winters!

2-H2's 03-12-2006 11:15 PM

Ric,

Winters aren't bad at all...I burned 7-9 chords a year, just depended on the extent of the cold. The summer's will kill you...just like Texas. ( I don't care what anyone tells you, it gets HOT there too!!!

Your earlier comment about your next ex-wife??? Don't marry anyone from there either...to the tune of 80K after it was said & done

LC

PS...could you please choke that biotch for me if you see her?

I understand this is your next door neighbor and she's lonely. I think you should increase the price.

Her azz is broke now...20 years later.

Seriously, good luck in VA, lots of neat stuff to do & if history floats your boat you are in the right state for it!!!

Too bad you had to leave SA & the great Mezzican food @ Mi T's 24/7. MY favorite place!!!

LC

VTSTOMPER 03-13-2006 12:26 AM

FYI - that house would sell up here for about 265-300K.

You got that right. 165K won't even buy you a 1 bedroom condo in Northern VA.

Looks like someone got to her before me!
Payback is a Biitch isn't it!

I'm not really into the whole history thing. (It's just a bunch of old dead people! )
D.C. is pretty cool, and all the museums around here are pretty cool! Lots of Dinos fo my son to see!
Looking forward to Visiting Va Beach!

Mi T's is always good for an after party eatery!
There is better food, but the atmosphere is second to none!
The Mariachi's are the best, and funny too!
I would definetly recommend this place for "Places to go" In S.A.! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Try the metro boston area. Depending on the town that house would fetch between $450-600K

Hell, in the Bay Area that place would run about $800K-1 mil depending on the location. Maybe more in some of the towns.

2-H2's 03-13-2006 06:58 PM

Worst case Ric-Ho...you could always lease it out to some of OUR new Houston residents Then fight the feds for your $$$

RIC-H0 03-13-2006 11:59 PM

I'd rather make a few more payments, than rent my place out!

Welcome home, Ric.

RIC-H0 03-15-2006 01:09 AM

Thanks for al the help!

I'm getting acclimated to the area.
Although, it's surpising how lost you can get after a few too many beers in a new town!
After 3 hours of driving around, and 3 stops at the same 7-11 (twice to pee and once for a killer burrito!) I finally found my apartment!

I feel right at home!

JamesT 03-15-2006 01:12 AM

You moved? Anyone askedyou what tribe you are from yet?
