Hate to take up space with another thread on this, but here’s the scoop. We buy the truck last night… drive it home for 2 hours. Something smells burnt in the garage, we figure it’s normal during break-in. Call GM and dealer this morning just to make sure, they say “yeah” normal. Ok, fair enough. So wife calls during the day says there’s a leak, bla bla bla. Mind you she’s a couple of hours away meeting a client. I tell her to keep an eye the temp guide and watch out for any weird sounds.
I’m leaving work, walking towards my own truck… oh $hit – bumper is completely covered in oil…WTF?!?!?! This is the truck I was following her in last night. I never noticed because we got home at dark last night and I left early this morning. My windshield is covered in tiny dots, which last night I thought were just bunch of tiny bugs off the highway. I get home… H3 in the garage… oil all over the floor. H3 is completely covered in oil in the back: tailgate, window, bumper, lights, tire, everything. I look under… it’s EVERYWHERE. F************CK!!! THE THING IS NOT EVEN A DAY OLD!!! I can’t tell where it’s coming from yet, my guess is a gasket blew somewhere, but I’ll check again tonight once I cool off and get my head on straight, I’m so livid right now… For all I know it could be a loose oil filter. ![]() Now I get to deal with service, rental, cleanup… who knows what other kind of BS, in addition to worrying about potential damage this caused, what could be contaminated by oil, etc. I MEAN DAAAMN!!! She had a perfectly good Lexus before this… Ok, done venting for now, I was hoping to take some pix tonight too. F*CK! ...what a disappointment... |

That sucks...not normal.
I wonder if the filter has a pin hole. I have seen that before. |
Norcal you`re a lying sack-o-sh1t.
Take you imaginary vehicles over to the Hyundai site and whine your beotch ass over there. We already know about you so don`t bother making up anymore stories. Little cumgobbler. |

My "imaginary vehicles"... what??? Lets review again, you moron... could it be my D2 I mentined?
![]() |
... or did you mean the IS300?

So, once again, what did I lie about and what was that about imaginary vehicles?
"you already know about me?"... what the f*ck does that mean? |
I'd like to be sympathetic but you sound like such a bitch. Sometimes things go wrong with new cars but you don't need to go writing five paragraphs crying about it. Get it fixed. Had the H3 for two months without a problem. Sucks to be you.

The majority here did not encounter any major problems with their H3s and I personally think that GM did a great job with this truck. Hope your dealer is able to sort out what's wrong with your H3 and will do some sort of compensation for the mess in your garage. <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by Ronnie_Ringo: I'd like to be sympathetic but you sound like such a bitch. I'm seriously interested in every problem other people have with their H3 and I am happy to get a detailed description about what was wrong and how it got fixed. It actually helps people who at one day might have the same symptoms with their own H3. Plus: I can understand how pissed someone has to be when he picks up a brand new truck and it totally breaks down the same day he bought it. Having said that, I think that NorCal_H3 still stays relatively calm in his post, considering his bad luck. |
Norcal the whore child is going next door taking pictures of his neighbor`s vehicles.
-He sprinkles some oil on the driveway but exagerrates by saying this... <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">I get home… H3 in the garage… oil all over the floor. Oil on your driveway??? Sprinkles of oil in between two cars???? How did that happen? Underneath the vehicle sure, but in between??? I smell BS. ![]() I don`t hardly see any oil that you so colorfully described as EVERYWHERE! Shut your pie hole little boy and go make your fantasy life come true somewhere else. P.S. Advice to you... Pick a better vehicle than a POS D2 when you make up wild stories. ![]() |
That sucks, especially on a brand new vehicle. I would be quite upset myself.
Completely unrelated to the H3 but something kind of similar happened to the wifes Jeep twice. First time it was the tranny coolant line leaking and the second time they had to replace something in the rear end but I can't remember what it was. Huge fiasco both times. Hummer doesn't offer a free rental for the H3 or pickup service? I feel for ya! Hope it gets resolved quickly. |
Sharkster, I don't "stfu" because I can say what I feel. Personally, I feel that post is BS. I read this forum for the same reason you do but I don't believe this crap. You're telling me the H3 was spraying oil on the car behind it but that's the best picture of oil on the garage floor when it's stopped. Sorry to be blunt again but are you that gullible?
|
That's your comeback, Dennis??? Switching subject to talk sh1t about the Rover? Weak man, weak. Still haven't heard you clarify what it is that I've lied about? And you keep talking about "imaginary"... are you on crack? Must be those 6000 posts you've mastered on the forum. Damn dude, do you have a life, or... is this it? Looser.
The oil is everywhere, starting at the front skid plate going all the way back and spraying the entire rear of the truck to the roofline. The drips on the floor are the result of sitting over them for about 20 minutes, there are some more now. Truck was on the road for about 8 hours yesterday and today, so I'm sure it dripped plenty more. |
BS??? What the hell could I possible gain by making this up???
![]() |
yeah, that's oil... enough sprinkling for you Dennis???
![]() |
![]() |
Alec, what's so drama about it? Yeah I bitched about a brand new truck making a huge mess and having a damn bad oil leak, sure. Are you telling me that you would just brush it off, as if... "oh, no biggie, everything is cool, I got a brand new truck that I can't even drive, but it's cool"
![]() Two fools above called BS on my post for no f-ing reason, so what's up with that? |
Looks like too much ArmorAll.
Stop being a drama queen. You sound like that h3lady and her freaky son. Take it in and they'll fix it. Besides, if it has pressure you're ok. |
OK- since you just go this POS and have had it less than THREE days, you can return it! I think that's the rule here in CO anyhow.
QUESTIONS: HTF did oil get on teh back window? Looking at your D2 bumper: it looks like armor all or something. ![]() Did you guys drive through something on the way home last night maybe and it just got hung up on the skidplate or something. I'm guessing not if there really is that much oil everywhere. With all the trolls on this site, I could see something like this being posted here, but I do believe you have an H3 or access to one. Either way, if there really is that much oil, don't drive it and call your dealer 1st thing in the AM. Remember, it's not the sales guys fault this happened, but get the Sales Manager on the phone and tell him this 24 hour old truck leaks more oil than your D2. ![]() ![]() |
Don't think I could return it, but I'm sure whatever it is, it'll get fixed, so i guess it doesn't matter. Now I'm just pissed about the mess and hassle with repairs... really bad timing. Local dealer is towing it in tomorrow AM.
I'm new to the forum, so I realize all the bitching is pretty annoying, but sh1t, I'm just venting, cut me some slack. As far as how it got on the back... you got me there. I suppose just the wind turbulence from all highway driving, the sides are clean, so go figure. |
Naw you`re a bitch with a POS D2 pissed because your wife drives a Hummer.
![]() She must smack you alot to clam your frazzled limp wristed tantrums. LMAO! Nice try on the fake oil(ArmourAll) pics. Be a man and take it back to the dealer instead of crying like a little whore. Mabye your wife might respect you again and stop smackin you around. |
Canadian Deity... you are a stupid f*ck with IQ deficiency. Go re-read your posts, clown... what was all that jibbery about again? Right. Got really big mouth making all these personal attacks with no wit to back them up. Don't even have the balls to answer a civil private post. Pussy. And quit crying about "fake" pix: I've got nothing better to do than spray **** on my truck just to entertain your lame ass
![]() |
if you are blowing that much oil out of a drivetrain component; i would guess by now, something is making a loud noise. could you have driven through something?
|
FWIW when I blew a coolant hose on my old wrangler the back of the truck was covered with anti-freeze. It was from the draft. looked a lot like your pics.
I still think it is a hole in the oil filter, or it is on too tight/too loose. It will leak if it is too tight or too loose. Have you checked the oil? I would be interested to see if it is too full or down quite a bit. I bet it is not that bad. |
First, you're getting the reactions here that you are getting because of the title of this thread and the manner in which you introduced this problem.
A leak on a new vehicle is generally a very minute problem and could have been caused by numerous things. To label the truck a "F-ING PILE" is an afront to other H3 owners. So, as you are asking them to understand why you are disgruntled that you have a problem that happens to every type of vehicle driven off a dealer lot, you need to understand why some are not as receptive to the manner in which you presented your problem here. Secondly, the oil is getting ripped into small particles while on the highway from the wind. There is a low pressure area at the rear of every vehicle and especially large SUVs. This causes those small droplets of oil to float up and roll back on to the rear of the truck. Same as any road grime. The point others were trying to help you realize on your own is that you could have come here and told your story in a much better manner and you probably would have received a much better response. Fstop, I don't know. Since there isn't that much pooling of oil, there might not be all that much oil loss to create some noise yet. I'm sure you know, when oil get's atomized like that, it looks like there is a whole lot more than it really is. |

Sorry to hear you are having problems but if the H3 was an F-ING PILE, then most would be having problems. Overall, the majority have not had any problems with their H3s. It really does suck when you are the one that does have the problem but the dealer will fix it and clean everything up for you. If you have a concern about residual damage then push them to take it back. Just curious, did you take a front license plate off after following the H3 home? |
To quote Rodney King:
"Can't we all just get along?" "Now can I have another hit?" No pun intended? |
Waiting on a tow truck. You guys are right about my bitching and moaning, sh1tty day yesterday - not my everyday behavior. Anyways, the oil is at half full, that was the first thing I checked.
There was no noise and we haven't driven over anything. And nope, the license plate has been off for a long time... the spot is textured differently, it's kind of weird. I'll post an updated once dealer figures out what's up. |
How long was the drive home from the dealer?
|
A couple things need to be remembered here. When you put together tens of thousands of vehicles, sometimes one will have something that has a part that didn't pop into place right. EVERY car manufacturer has this. A vehicle is more deserving of a p.o.s. title when all of the vehicles have a concern due to a poor design. That is not the case with yours.
Secondly, the dealerships are all paid per vehicle to give them a good look over when they come into the dealership when new. You should be upset with your dealer for not catching something that should have been obvious. Not only did the tech who should have looked it over new miss it, but the wash guy who cleaned it up, the sales dept. by ignoring oil spots under where it was parked, and probably more people. We can sympathize with the hassle of having a new car break, but your frustrations need to be directed at your dealer. |
2-2.5 hrs, but then about 4.5-5.5 hrs worth of driving yesterday. Exactly 400 miles.
|
What pisses me off the most is people complaining about mechanical problems with their H3 when in fact 99% of these issues are the dealer’s fault.
NorCal_H3 you should be ****ting down your dealer’s throat right now, he/she was suppose to have their mechanics go over your new H3 with a fine tooth comb before you picked it up, checking fluid levels, loose parts from shipping, etc. Don’t blame Hummer or your H3, blame that incompetent dealer and the moron mechanics that looked over your Hummer if they even did. In fact based on your forum name I am guessing that you live in North Cali, and if so which dealer did you buy your Hummer from? The reason I ask is about 80% of my family lives in North Cali and have been asking me how I luv my Hummer. If a couple of them decide to buy, I don’t want them patronizing your dumbass dealer. Now look what you did, I dislike dealer's in the first place (except for mine) and you just got me rawled up..... ![]() |
400 miles and you went through about half your oil...sounds like a small leak. Let us know...it really sounds like the filer either has a hole or is on too tight/loose. Not sure if it would be a hose or hose clamp...I am trying to think if there are any...
On my GMC truck I had a pin hole in my filter...I change my own oil so I saw it right away. The stream of oil was like a small squirt gun hitting the frame rail. My oil pressure looked fine too...I had to go back down with my wife's car and get new oil/filter. |
Yup, I'll be talking to the dealer. Trouble is they are couple of hours away, so hopefully the local one won't give me hard time about it.
I couldn't get to the filter - does the skid plate need to be taken off to get access to it?? No need to guess, we'll find out soon enough. Then you guys can gang up on me and flame away when it turns out to be a loose filter. ![]() |
