another question...

when going aftermarket with head units and amps, it's a gimme that you have to replace the speakers, but i was wondering if anyone just left the stock tweeters alone?
since nothing but highs are reserved for em i wouldn't thing that they would be needed to switch

you could keep them if you wanted , but i would replace them also if you get a component set of front speakers they come with tweeters and most after market tweeters are going to be better that the stock ones. you could leave them and then change them if your not happy. its not hard to do

I would go with a component set, if you shop around the cost is not that much more. I replaced my head unit and added 3 more tv screens, but kept the stock bose. I will probably upgrade the speakers, but you might want to replace the head unit first and then see how you like it. Wouldn't hurt. also your factory head unit will bring $100-$150 on ebay, that is where I sold mine.

Just make sure you do not buy cheap speakers. If you buy new ones be sure they are a high quality speaker. The Bose are a pretty damn good speaker and alot of aftermarket ones out there are no where near as good as the Bose Stockers. Make sure if you replace them you get a component set.

I agree I have had about 40 cars in my life. As far as factory nothing compares to a bose system. My previous truck was a Lincoln Navigator with that THX Digital Sound or whatever it was. Horrible. I would run your new head unit and then see where you are at. You may want to consider adding a subwoofer with your bose system. I would replace the factory speakers last. Just my opinion.

Good advice, I added a 12 sub to the existing bose and it sounds amazing. PAC makes an interface so you can run an aftermarket head unit with the existing bose speakers, then you can run an amp off the RCA's to a sub.

Yeah, plus you can get some pretty cool enlosures for an H2. I would consider a JL audio powered enclosure! The make some really cool ones for a Hummer. There are some threads on here that you lead you in the right direction.
