Seat Warmers

Ok, this one is a little weird. So I took some black leather captain seats out of a used H2 and put them in my 2003 Hummer that didn't come with seat warmers. Pretty sure they have the seat warmers being that they are all leather and black. Anyways, so I installed the controls on the door that came in the stock H2 to run them. I figured there would be a slight possibility that they would just start working but I should know better- what else do I need to do to get them working? A fuse? Some sort of special wiring or a relay?

I saw some other posts on here about seat warmers but they didn't really explain putting them into a Duece without them. Any help on this from you GM techs would be appreciated. Thanks-

As you many be aware the Hummer seat heater are notorious for failing. The first thing I would do is meter the heating elements. Do the lights on the door light up at all?

This may help too.

Re: Seat Warmers

Yah, they do. Issue is that I installed the seats and the switches on the doors in a truck that didn't have them before, so I am thinking I need relays added somewhere or something to get them to work. I went to GM dealership to ask their techs, even the ones that used to work on the Hummers there at the dealership and they are dumb as hell. I'm sure they don't care to help me now that they don't do Hummers any more.

Any other help would be great- thanks!

Re: Seat Warmers

I would look at either reverse engineering the entire controls from factory. Door controls to dash (Wires, fuses and relays) > dash to seats (wiring).

Or contact a seller of aftermarket heating elements and buy the controls. Like this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carbon-Fiber...56ff19&vxp=mtr

And just use the aftermarket controls and mount the panel/controls where you want.

Re: Seat Warmers

Ok, so I tried to check the fuses and it doesn't look like there are any fuses or open fuse sections for the seat warmers so I guess I am stuck again. I don't have the service manual for my truck and even if I did, I don't think I could read the wiring maps. I am guessing a relay needs to be installed or something for it to work, not sure-

Any help anyone can provide me would be great. Also, already went to the old Hummer dealership and talked to the former Hummer service technicians and they were of no help at all- felt like I was talking to some Kia service techs :raar: idiots couldn't help me at all.
