Reflect the light back down so it's easier to see with the black interior.

It hides the cum stains better!

if i was to take my truck to a guy to get it redone in black is there a kit for the grey plastic pieces (grab bars, overhead) or would i have to paint/die them black

And to be perfectly honest, I really have no idea why it's that way. It just makes sense.

It's so they only have to make one headliner for all of the Hummers.

I haven't been able to find a kit yet for the trim pieces, we usually just put in chrome "oh ****" handles and leave the sunroof stuff the way it is.

mstams 02-02-2006 10:37 PM

My guess is that somebody thought the lighter headliner made the ceiling seem higher with the low roofline.

You have to get them dyed. Any custom interior shop can do this. It won't be too pricy as there is not alot that needs to be dyed.

Your lucky with an SUT since you will be able to get headliner material to fit WITHOUT having seams. I'm doing this to my SUV, and my interior guy CANNOT find headliner material in Large enough width to cover WITHOUT having to seam it

Agreed. The truck interior would be like a cave if the headliner was black.
