http://www.breathlessperformance.com/ High Intensity Discharge (HID) is a new type of lighting technology that replaces the old halogen gas bulbs that use a heated tungsten filament. HID lamps operate more like vapor filled streetlights. They don't have a filament but create light by zapping an arc between two electrodes. That arc excites a different kind of gas usually Xenon, which in turn ignites metallic salts. The light produced by an HID Xenon lighting system is greater than a standard halogen bulb and with less power consumption. On the road, HID Xenon lighting systems appear as a bright white beam which resembles natural daylight. The bright white beam offers greater visibility and road safety. HID systems are now found in luxury equipped cars such as the top of the line BMW, Lexus and Mercedes systems. Pro - Compact Ballast: 2.75" x 2.75" x 1.375" Pro - Long sealed wiring: 18" & 24" Pro - No load protection Pro - Reverse voltage protection Pro - Short circuit protection Pro - Advanced hi-tech micro circuitry Pro - Exact size and fitting as OEM halogen Pro - Amp watertight connecter Pro - Easy & simple connection Pro - 30 Day Warranty |

Do the HID bulbs really make a difference?

I've tried just about every light bulb on the market in my never ending quest for better light. I finally settled on the Pure Platinum bulbs from PIAA. They are the best that I've ever seen. I also added a wiring harness that brings power directly from the alternator (through a relay) to the headlights. HUGE improvement!!!! I think the wiring harness came from Jackson Electronics.

Do you remember the PIAA part numbers? For both the main and fog lights? Thanks for any help.

Sorry, I was talking about my Tahoe.
