The video has been moved from its original location. It can now be found here:

No tie-rods were broken in the making of this video...but some beers met their demise and a few people got sun-burned a bit.

Steve,

Great video!

I noticed that brainless person on the ATV cut through the line of Hummers and come close to getting nailed by the truck going in the oposite direction.

BTW, where were all the women in bikinis and thongs? I thought all the women out there in California wore them to the beach?

That beach was absolutely crowded...it was like Woodstock or something. Everywhere you turned there were quads, trucks, ATV's...you name it.

The quads all seems very interested in the Hummers....at times they swarmed around us...but usually kept a safe distance.

As for the women...wrong kind of beach! The water was cold, the air cool and the wind kicks up to nasty gust between 4-7pm.

Glad you enjoyed the video.

Joyce,

I do have a 3rd-row seat...and that seat does have a shoulder restraint that crosses through the backside of my kids car-seat. As for the center car seat....we did not use a strap anchor...but easily could have (we have one in the main vehicle my wife drives.

We could have used that strap, but since the kid weighs 1/3 of what the seat can handle, there's no way it would need it.

Just so ya know...I often put my daughter in the front seat (in her car seat) and merely de-activate the front air-bag using the key-switch.

Hmmmmm....
Okay......
Yeah....

FINE, next time I'll use the anchor strap and I won't put my kid in the front seat anymore (even if the air-bag is turned off).

sheesh....

Steve,
Are you just using iMovie to edit with? And what kind of camera are you using?
I just picked up a Sony TRV80 (because of the NightShot, heh heh) to shoot the Rubi' trip with, so I should have a movie put together soon after I get back.

DF,

I'm using Primeire 6.5 for editing...it took me a long time to get the hang of that program....it could EASILY be a complete college course...perhaps even 2 segments even!

Alec uses MovieMaker and I think it does the same thing as my ridiculously more 'powerful' program...I've yet to tap the programs potential. It's fun, but count on several hours of time to produce something decent!

My camera is a Canon Optura 20, I like the large screen and didn't care for the Sony's button's-on-screen deal. It also helps to have others contribute footage, and you see how I incorporate pics into the project as well.

Biggest keys: Hold the camera very still, use a tripod if you can. Do NOT zoom in & out...if you do...do it slowly and infrequently. You can't fix anything in editing. Get lots of lead and trailing material (hold the camera on for a while and let it run after the shot). And above all else....get as much sexuality into the piece as possible: never underestimate the perverted ways of this forum!

That's why I got the Sony with the Nightshot. I'll try to drop in some subliminal strip club shots to keep your attention.

Steve,

Have you ever considered pushing these vids to GM? Use their commercial mite to push the cause.

If these vids reached the public through commercials, I think there would be more understanding for the H2.

Alot of car companies do it. Customer stories. We need stuff like that to back up the flashy hype of those H2 commercials.

Oh and I love the cleavage shot...RRRROEW!

2 Words: AWESOME VIDEO!!!!!!
I love it.... Have to make a run out there sometime.....

As always Steve, great job on the video. But once again, I hate you and every one of those people there. Pismo is another one of the places I've dreamt about many many nights, riding the dunes on my quad or my bike.
I hate it here

Thanks for the compliments. I can assure you that both Alec and I put a LOT of time & work into making these things....and no matter how often we hear it...it still feels nice to get the appreciation!!!!!!

Zing 10-14-2003 11:03 PM

Nice!!! New York doesn't have anything like that those dunes. Nor could we get that many Hummers together. I'm depressed.

kelleymac2000 10-15-2003 01:10 AM

You have to travel up the road a bit to Avila Beach to see the women you're looking for.
