Thanks for the reply, It can be a problem for me, I don´t think my local GM dealer can fixed this here. I live on a small island between Sweden and Finland so maybe I go to Sweden to get it fixed then

Sweeden is one screwed up country. I've heard that in Sweeden, it is not unlawfull for a man to sexually mollest his son, but it is illegal to make fun of someone for being gay, punishable by up to a year in prison.
Pretty backwards country if you ask me.
But what should we expect, this is the country that builds the Saab's.

Do you believe everything you "hear"?

Swedish Law:
"A person committing sexual exploitation of a minor (sexual act with someone under eighteen (18) years who is the offender’s offspring or stands under his responsibility or, otherwise than as previously stated, a sexual act with someone under fifteen (15) years, can be sentenced to imprisonment for at most four years. If the crime is considered as aggravated sexual exploitation with a minor, the offender can be sentenced to imprisonment for at least two and at most eight years."

Intresting, I believed it because I heard it on Paul Harvey news about 2 years ago. I still think the Sweeds are a messed up bunch. Sorry if I"m offending anyone.

What's up fellow country man? I think there has been few discussions regarding this issue, please use the find function to find them! Do you have pics of your H2? What year is it? Where did you get it and when?

There is Hummer dealer in Estonia as well, so maybe you can give them a call...

Kiitos,

Hello W1N

Yes I can post pic tomorrow. My is a black 2003. I bought it in Sweden, and when I register it as an truck here in Åland we get it with no tax at all. Just payed the car in Sweden, thats it. I have seen Hummer H2 on nettiauto for 70-90.000€, for that money I get 2pcs in Sweden or Germany. How high was the tax for your Hummer in mainland Finland?

Hey Tomas,

I have not yet gotten mine, I will get a new 2006 H2 later this year. I will have it supercharged so it will be about 500 hp. For me the total cost will be around 55 k€ and as supercharged it will be around 72 k€. Where do service yours? We have a couple of places here in Helsinki that service Hummers.

btw, have you heard about that EU law that every vehicle over 3500 kg must have speed limiter. This means that if I remember correctly all Hummers must have speed limiter set to 80 km/h by the 1.1.2006. I've checked that from few sources.

Thanks,

-Tuomas-

Viper,
I have the same problem. Mine got messed up the same day I bought my 2004 H2 from the dealer. It got loose and started moving even by the wind when I drive on highways. I took it to the dealer and they replaced it with no questions asked under warranty. so I guess this is the only solution. good luck.

Hello Tuomas

I haven´t heard about the speed limiter. Is it for cars that are registered as an truck or is it all passenger cars that are over 3500kg?? If it is just trucks I will register my car as an passenger car that it was from beginning when I bought it from Sweden.

Maybe it is just new trucks, I can´t belive that old trucks must have this.

Hey Tomas,

I have called AKE quite a few times and the law has actually been active for over an year now. But the limiters have been delayed by the manufacturer, so AKE will require is to be active in all vehicles registered as trucks by 1.1.2006 or 2007 (can't remember this). All new trucks over 3500kg must have it before they they can be registered. I don't know about Åland vehicle law, but if it is the same as in Finland, H2 can't be registerd as passenger car because it is not EU approved passenger vehicle. It can be done but basically most of the H2's parts must be tested in approved laboratory like VTT here in Helsinki. This can cost up to a 1M€ to do. This is the same procedure what all car manufacturers must do before they can sell their cars in Europe. If for some reason you would get the H2 registered as passeger vehicle you will lose the tax benefits of the vehicle. That means that is your company for example owns the H2, you will not be able deduct taxes from the gas-prices etc etc. Again I do not know about the Åland vehicle law, that is, is it the same than in rest of the Finland, but the speed limiter is for sure. Check out the link below and read § 24.
