Question – for California off-roading is it best to have the M/T’s or A/T’s?????? Right now I have the tires that came with the base model, and there is no traction what so ever… I was looking at the TOYO M/T’s. But, I also started looking at the PRO COMP A/T’s.

Go ProComp if you are on a shoe string budget because they are of "wal-mart" quality. Good bang for the buck.

Go Toyo if you want the best tire avail in a M/T with excellent performance on road and offroad.

Toyo MT

From what I see Cali wheeling is all about the mud. Not too much rock. Toyo's would work really nice.

I've got BFG TA KO's which I'll be testing in the rocky wilds of Paragon AP this weekend. I expect great things!

I would have gotten the Toyo's but they weren't readilly available in my area and would have busted my budget. If you can swing 'em, get the Toyo's.

Actually, we have just about everything. Rocks, mud, sand, snow. Its just with all the rain this year, everywhere you go has mud.

M/T are pretty slick on ice or packed snow. I usually buy new tires around winter and get the studs put in them, and sipe the tires then the following winter because the stud pockets fill with crap and its a pain to dig that crap out.. Siping the tire will wear a little faster though.

ChasH3 04-20-2006 11:27 AM
