Not sure I understand your problem. Please clarify by posting pictures of yourself in various revealing outfits.

Don't know if that would help you understand the problem any better =) However, to clarify a little better... When I start the engine with the AC on, put the vehicle in drive let off the brake and press the gas pedal, there is a metalic flapping noise that comes from somewhere under the engine. It stops when I let off the gas, or as the engine shifts into 2nd, and then about 1/2 way thorugh 2nd, it starts again, and the flapping noise gets faster... and it usually happens mostly when the engine is cold.

Welcome Chick. No idea here either, and my suggestion was taken.

I hope it's not the AC compressor, since it only makes the noise as I accelerate, and only sporadically, (hope I spelled that right

We all assume you’re referring to a 2003/2004 Hummer. Right? Take it to the dealer and let them deal with it.

Yes, it is a 2003, and it was just there 2 weeks ago for the noise, that they couldn't figure out. They thought is was the heat shield, and "tightened" it and the muffler... Didn't fix it, and I will be making another appt with them for another "look-see".

Klaus' service bulletin reminded me of another possible cause. A friend with an '03 model exhibited a similar flapping noise to me last winter. We thought the bearings had failed in the a/c fan motor. Turns out a blade or two of pine straw had somehow or other gotten into the vents on the cowl and all the way to the a/c fan. As the fan blades hit the pine straw, you could hear a loud clicking or flapping sound. Check for that too if you think the noise is coming from the a/c fan.

What about a fan belt comming apart. Air intake shroud loose. sorry spelling.
