I just pressed the horn after someone cut me off and it sounds real lame compared to the H3's tough looks.

Has anybody changed their horns and to what?

Check the H2 section for an alternative horn. There was a thread a while back about train horns

Which are now illegal in many areas and are very dangerous.

The train horn may be too extreme, but anything more robust would be good.

I know this is an old thread but had to comment. My uncles buddy has a train horn on a Honda Goldwing and the thing is insane. Definitely overkill. Especially on a motorcycle. He thinks its funny though.

A pair of 12v Hi Low electric horns from any auto parts store works great. There are very loud versions for about $25.00. I got tired of the sick sounding horn and added the horns and it sounds substantial. The install is easy using the original horn commections.

Great idea Okthenbye.

Nice! Were they difficult to install?

I have seen theese horns around.
Thought about getting them.
Do they cause any problems?
Like, I know the OEM horn is used for 2 different volume levels.
How do the replacements work with that feature?

I also installed the PIAA horns some months ago. They come in two versions I have the ones with the lower frequency. To be honest I expected a louder sound from these horns. They are definitly better then the stock horn but still I would like them louder.
I bought them at 4 wheel parts in Dallas. I forgot the price but I believe about $50 and by the way easy to install.
