HELP Needed - Brush Guard Install
I recently bought a used factory brush guard off E-bay. Unfortunately, it did not come with instructions or any hardware. Does anyone have the step-by-step instruction or could tell me how to mount this onto my vehichle before I give in and let the dealer install it? I have a 2006 Hummer H2.
I have search this forum for clues without any success! Please Help!!! __________________ |

I can't help with the bolt sizes for the lower mounting arms. You'll probably just need to find a local hardware store where they'll let you run out to the truck to try a few out. If you have the double brush guard there are upper arms (held on by two bolts). You need to replace the short bolts that are just inside the upper grill with some longer ones which will go through the arms on the brush guard, then through some rubber spacers and then into the holes where the short bolts are. You can remove one of the short ones and take it into a hardware store to find a longer one by locating a nut that fits the old bolt...that'll give you the bolt diameter & pitch. These new bolts need to be ~2 inches long and you need a rubber spacer that's about 1 inch thick for the bolts to go through. Quote:
It's a shame that the original elcova.com posts are gone between the padding purge and the relocation to the new domain. There was enough info there to figure this all out. |

It really is easy, but you'll spend two hours trying to find the right bolts and spacers.
