Why was there no inquisition into the Al Gore ticketgate?

I'm still wondering why the media didn't even make a peep when Al got pulled over for speeding here in Oregon in a rental car all by himself(NO Secret Service???) back in 2004. Wonder why no one is curious about why he was out by himself?
