At 3,500 miles, I'm ready, but I'd rather not drive all the way to the dealer for an oil change. Any warrantly problems if I do it myself or take it to 4WP? Any other required (or recommended) maintenance at this time?

I just hit 3400 miles and changed the oil on mine last week. To my knowledge, an oil change is all that is needed at this time.
When I changed my oil, I thought it was curious that while the owners manual says an AC PF-46 is the recommended filter, an AC PF-44 was on it. I haven't yet figured out what the difference is.

PF44 has been discontinued. They're just using up stock. You can also use the UPF44. It's the Premium Filter.

Same questions with many other GM cars.

I always go with 3k miles for oil changes and 6k for tire rotation, but there will be NO warranty issue if you follow the DIC

Quick tip I learned when I changes my oil. The metal cross bars make a huge mess when the oil drains and hits each rung. Solution, take a hard piece of cardboard and make a funnel so you can bypass the metal bars and drain directly into your oil pan. I thought I had it licked and then I took off the filter. Use the same technique for the oil filter and it will be alot less messy.
