Jeep Dealer Takes a Shot at HUMMER
Unlimiteds Limited
Four-door Wranglers have waiting lists at many dealers Dealers have been waiting a long time for the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Now that it's arriving, customers may have to wait as well. Jeep dealers say the 2007 Unlimited, the first four-door Wrangler, is the hottest vehicle in showrooms. Jeep dealers, who have struggled along with dealers of the other Chrysler group brands to sell excess 2006 inventory, welcome a hot new product. John Schenden, owner of Pro Chrysler-Jeep in Denver, said customers have to wait eight to 10 weeks. "I've sold 20," he said. "I've got orders for another 18 to 22." Alan Helfman, owner of River Oaks Chrysler-Jeep in Houston, said the new Wrangler has been selling "beyond our wildest imagination." "I've got 30 orders as we sit right now," he said. "I could sell all I could get. Truly, there would not be Hummer dealerships if we had this five years ago." A Chrysler source said that dealers had just a 39-day supply of Wrangler Unlimiteds as of Oct. 31 and that compares with 91 days for the 2007 two-door Wrangler. http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dl...4/TOC01ARCHIVE |
Re: Jeep Dealer Takes a Shot at HUMMER
I think he has it twisted. Jeep wouldn't have a four dour Unlimited if it wasn't for HUMMER. Every HUMMER model is a very capable stock rig, Jeep on the other hand only has 1 model that they can call a capable rig, the rest are nothing but street queens with a Trail-rated logo on them.
It took the competition blowing down Jeep's neck for them to wake up. And lets face it, the owner of that dealership probably drives a HUMMER, because no Jeep offers the capability and luxury in one package like HUMMER. |

:violin: Jeep is king of the compact 4x4, hands down. But until they come out with a true fullsize offroad suv, they ought to watch their mouth. The Commander hardly competes with the H2 offroad, and the H1 is completely out of their league. The H3 beats every mid-size jeep prior to the Ultd Rubicon, but Jeep's still a year late to the party. |

Re: Jeep Dealer Takes a Shot at HUMMER
I love it when people mention "your brands name" in thinking they are in competition with you when in fact they arent even in the parking lot to compete.
Different animals all together... yes I am a former Jeep owner but I have the sense to admit they are different animals and I DO appreciate them for thier differences and can not be compaired together as if they were competing. Nice try though, |
Re: Jeep Dealer Takes a Shot at HUMMER
Prior to getting a Hummer :giggling: , I owned 6 Grand Cherokee Limiteds and 1 Cherokee Limited. All were fully loaded with every option. I would get so bored with them, that I drove my other cars, Vette and Cobra, whenever it was appropriate. Since the Hummer, I have not taken either car out of the garage!
Nuff said about the excitement of owning a heep! |
