Actual Physical Location Of The XM Antenna

I searched on this forum and AVIC-411 and surprisingly did not find a clear/complete answer:

Where is the XM Antenna located on the H3? Is it that Short, Black, Rubbery Antenna on the top of the roof or is that just for OnStar?

Someone else mentioned that it was on the top of the roof and looked like a "Hockey Puck", but I don't have anything like that on my roof....maybe it's somewhere else?

Thanks in advance. I always appreciate everyone's expertise on this forum.

Mine looks like it might be hanging where the rear view mirror attaches to the windshield.

This has been discussed quite a few times, last week for example in a thread with Viet Nam Vette.
Above the passenger, on the outside on the roof, is a black 'wart' thing with a small rubber antenna. As I have said before:
the large black thing is XM and Onstar GPS, the rubber antenna on top is the Onstar Cell communications antenna.

Thanks for the reply f5fstop. I honestly did an extensive search and could not find anything on where the XM antenna was located. Maybe I am just a bad "searcher".

Thanks again!!!!

Re: Actual Physical Location Of The XM Antenna

I assume that you mean the XM antenna lead not the physical antenna. Since the antenna is integrated into the onstar amtenna just like f5 and others have said. Onyway the antena does you no good without locating the lead comming form it. It does sound like it is real hard to get to thelead though.

Check this thread... There is a belief by Marin8703 that it is behind the glove box.

yup, its above the glovebox, in back of the dash. its between the air bag and the glove box. but as f5 said vehicles that did not have xm radio from the factory might or might not have the lead.
