Sounds like you need to lay off of the horn!
![]() Maybe a bad ground, or you could've gotten some mud jammed up between the pos. and neg. contacts!(oops, sorry, I thought I was talking to an offroader!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Ric-H2 |
There are two vibrator-type horns on the H2, and vibrator horns can possibly - if not adjusted correctly draw a lot more current than they should. What you might do is disconnect one (it should be a simple plug on the horn itself) and lay on that single horn (sure hope you have understanding neighbors
![]() With the one that blows the fuse, you might be able to adjust it so that it draws less current. See if there is a screwdriver adjusting point on the side. If not, then you could just replace it (two horns, one is the "hi note" the other being the "low note"). If you can prove the horn blows the fuse, you should be able to get it replaced under warranty; if not then, good replacement OEM-like (or even louder) horns should about $15. |
Look, for the last time "Hunter Boy". I AM an Off ROADER. Last week I conquered 2 curbs as well as a parking block at the mall. NOW LAY OFF!

Just as a follow up. I replaced the 15 amp with a 30 amp and it works fine. ????

Did you look for an adjusting screw on the side of the horn?
Like I said earlier, if adjusted wrong (there is a range) the average amount of current draw will be higher than at other points, and the general loudness is adjusted by that screw as well. |
