Need help with TPM programming of tire pressure sensors

Hi, when trying to program the TPM system, the manual states that the DIC diplay should still be flashing after receiving the horn-honk on the 4th tire. I am able to get all 4 TPMs to cause the horn honk in much less than the 5 minutes allowed, but when I return to the drivers seat, the TPM warning lights are no longer flashing. Please help...

When i did mine i got the same thing to happen as you. the manual says:
Quote:

After hearing the confirming horn chirp for the left

rear tire, check to see if the TPMS warning light is
still flashing. If yes, turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

It doesnt say what to do if its not flashing.

Maybe its written wrong, or maybe someone that has done it and got the flashing thing can help out.

Re: Need help with TPM programming of tire pressure sensors

 1.
Set the parking brake.
Turn the ignition switch to ON with the engine off.
Turn the exterior lamp switch from AUTO to ON four times within three seconds. A double horn chirp will sound and the TPMS low tire warning light will begin to flash. The double horn chirp and flashing TPMS warning light indicates the TPM matching process has started. The TPMS warning light should continue flashing throughout the matching procedure. The SERV TPM message will be displayed on the Driver Information Center (DIC).
Start with the driver's side front tire.
Remove the valve cap from the valve cap stem. Activate the TPMS sensor by increasing or decreasing the tire's air pressure for 10 seconds, then stop and listen for a single horn chirp. The single horn chirp should sound within 15 seconds, confirming that the sensor identification code has been matched to this tire and wheel position. If you do not hear the confirming single horn chirp, you will need to start over with step number one. To let air-pressure out of a tire you can use the pointed end of the valve cap, a pencil-style air pressure gage, or a key.
Proceed to the passenger's side front tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
Proceed to the passenger's side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
Proceed to the driver's side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
After hearing the confirming horn chirp for the left rear tire, check to see if the TPMS warning light is still flashing. If it is, turn the ignition switch to LOCK. If the TPMS warning light is not flashing, the five minute time limit has passed and you will need to start the process over beginning with Step 1.
Set all four tires to the recommended air pressure level as indicated on the Tire and Loading Information label.
 2. Put the valve caps back on the valve stems.

If it is flashing your done, states right there if it is not flashing was not done in the time alotted. Maybe it is taking longer than 5 minutes, or something may be wrong with the system. Easy way to tell if ya had A tech 2 scan tool but otherwise your guessing.

I can tell you when using the low-frequency transmission tool to learn the sensors, after the left rear is learned and the horn beeps, you just turn off the ignition. Can't remember if anything is flashing on the IP or not.

TOMP, didn't you get all new tires and rims??? Maybe it has something to do with that. You went larger I think...

Good Luck!

Revisiting an old post here, but I have the same issue as above. I put my spare on and got the service TPM indication. Went through the procedure exactly as the manual says, less than 5 minutes, and TPM light is NOT flashing after fourth tire. Possibly a typo in the manual? Haven't gotten out to drive around and see if the error goes away.

Anyone else had some experience with this?

Where did you guys get the diagnostic tool for the TPM reprogramming? I replaced my sensors and I need to do the re-learn procedure but I don't have the transmitting tool, any suggestions?

Read the owner's manual, there is NO need for the tool. The tool is available for the dealers to use.

Just to close this thought (and maybe help the next guy that does a search). The manual does appear to be incorrect. After going through the programming sequence for each tire, the TPM light is NOT flashing (is steady on). The next time the rig is started the TPM error is still there, but after driving for a few miles it is gone, never to return. Life is good again.
