Does anyone have any experience with what I understand are side panel body guards that attach with magnets? They look to me in photos like large plastic panels that cover an entire door or fender to protect it from off road damage from branches and the like.

The paint on my H2 is really pretty nice and protecting it would be good thing.

Thanks,

George

Here's another pic. If your paint is pretty nice, it must be black. They seem to be made of the same material that magnetic door signs are made of. I took some of the extra and used it on the door pillars.

Nevermind the pic, I don't have one that shows the door pillars very well. You could also just run tape up the door.

George, I've used them on many occasions. They are called Truck Shields and run about $400 delivered.

They work well. They take about 20-30 minutes to put on correctly and about 15 minutes to take off. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Great pic! How much fun was it to clean those wheels? How long did it take?

I need some of those. Why do you have tape on there? I understand why you put it up the pillars, but I notice little spots of tape on the top. Do they need it so they don't get hooked and ripped off?

Cool picture. Kind of reminds me of the Flintstones!

It's Duck Duct Tape.

GeorgeSSSS 04-06-2005 05:22 PM

There is a Duck brand tape, and it is a little different (as I recall) from what we call duct tape.

Everyone thanks for the good info and yes, my H2 is black.

Thanks for that! Now I'm confused too!
So.... Duck Brand tape leaves no residue and Walmart and Ace Hardware sell it.
Now, to look for some shields. Thanks!

No doubt about it. This is place is the center of the universe for any kind of information anyone would want to know about anything.
