Rivethead teams up with Idol Nikki McKibbin

Seems that local metal group Rivethead and American Idol almost finalist Nikki McKibbin will head out on tour together soon. I know what you're thinking, Rivethead and someone from American Idol?! The band promises that their music will not fall by the way of what Idol usually puts out there. Read the announcement from the band below:
Nikki McKibbin came in 3rd on the first season of American Idol, earning her a loyal fan base worldwide and a lucrative recording contract [that] she turned down. IT WAS COUNTRY.
Rivethead has been asked to tour with Nikki, both as her opening band and as her backing band. So, in April and May Rivethead and Nikki will hit Dallas, San Antonio and 5-6 dates in California.
Also, part of the hook-up included the band going into the recording studio to record some tracks for her upcoming release (date set for May 1st at present).
Don't expect to hear pop princess cookie cutter mediocre yawn tracks from this American Idol and Dallas band.
Nothing that ever touched the American Idol stage and got respect ever sounded anything like this.
The band finished the music tracks (7 songs) on 3-31 at Nomad Studios in Dallas, TX with the legend, JT Longoria behind the board.

We're playing both as RIVETHEAD and Nikki McKibbin's band, so we get to play two sets a night. We already opened for Powerman 5000, Crossfade and Black Stone Cherry last month. This month, we're playing California, Arlington, TX and Oklahoma!

Nikki's a sweetheart!!! We were given the green light to make all the tracks sound like RIVETHEAD. So, the combination of her vocal skills and our attack on the guitars/drums/bass, has resulted in a very cool sound.

We definitely take it further than Evanescence - no disrespect to them at all. Two tracks to look out for, "Electrik" - originally a RIVETHEAD song and "Naked Inside" a previously released track that we re-worked.

I'm going to have to sue you for ruining the Prodigy song. Tell Nikki not to add sausage related lyrics to non homo songs. You guys can do that all you want with Elton John, Boy George and Liberace tunes.:twak:

There's a background sample in "Smack My Bitch Up" that says "Like this"... Our other guitar player, Kevin, convinced Nikki it said, "I like dicks" for a laugh and she started singing it...

Oh well... Can't say I'm a fan of that lyrical joke myself...
