Pioneer AVIC-N2 DVD navigation

I have a this model and I'm curious if I remove my factory head unit and install the AVIC-N2 will the XM that's paid for a year still work? The unit has a XM interface but I'm assuming the free yr service would be voided? Any thoughts before I install? I'm probably going to go ahead and install the navi system and just purchase the XM but if its free for a year I can throw my Magellan mobile Navi in til the year is up..:) Any thoughts much appreciated.

best people to ask are the xm people...call and explain the situation...you get the service, not the radio.....but the free service is three months not a year...

You'll need to add on the XM unit to the AVIC...should be about $120, but the unit is only XM ready, as in, ready to add it.. :D

once you get the xm receiver for your new avic i think xm will transfer your old free year subscription to your new receiver, they did it for me. But be aware, xm customer service sucks, try not to go postal while talking with them.:beerchug:

Nice...Yeah I'll try not to go postal, but I really hate bad customer service. I'm going this weekend to get my AVIC and my amp, head rest screens and subs installed. I wish I had leather with the H3 logo's that's so hot.....
