Does the H2 have a separate amplifier for the stero. If so, where is it located and can it be replaced or upgraded?

I am not sure, but if it is anything like my NSX with the Bose setup, the amps are likey built into the primary speaker enclosures in the front and rear, in addition to the power supplied by the head unit.
I could be wrong, and hope I am, I have had a lot of problems with the Bose system in the NSX, and while it sounds ok when operational they are a bitch to replace / repair. I would also be curious to hear from those who have done speaker / system upgrades. |
Factory amp is locaterd in center console underneath the storage box. To access the amp wiring, just remove the rear panel of console where the rear seat audio controls and air vents are located. There is one screw in the top under the console door and two screws in the pocket under the rear vents.
It is only similar to the NSX system in one respect, if it says BOSE on it, it needs to be replaced. The BOSE name is nothing more than for marketing, they offer no sound quality nor build quality. |
I had this idea to add a new amp, and then put the accoustamass subwoofer into the vehicle, where I could plug it in and take it out. I figured that I need more amp than came with it. I had the bose in a S500 MB and when I changed the amp out the system was absolutely awsome.

You know what BOSE stands for???
Buy Other Speakers Eventually!!! We used to say this when I worked at Sears and Good Guys when I was back in college!!! They are a pure marketing machine, not a good speaker. |
