The overall tire diamater is what will count the wheel size has no effect gear ratios. If you were to run 38" tires with a wheel back space of 4.5 inches (you can get by with 5 inch backspace) and a 6 inch lift it will look like mine. I would recommend that you consider carefully your choice of lift kit. Some highly recommended kits require Differential Mounts to be cut for clearance. Mine did not. So if you were to remove the kit later you wont run into another issue. Mine has the Corsa exhaust that you asked about as well. You can see another view

Thats sound advice right there, There are alot of Rigs running around lifted with cut parts and they will never go back to stock again, Choose your lift wisely! Re-Sale Options to a potential buyer is huge. Cheers |
Re: 4.56 vs.4.88 w/6in. lift
Personally, I feel the H2 should have had 4:56 gears stock. Knowing that, I would go with the 4.88s with 38 tires.

Re: 4.56 vs.4.88 w/6in. lift
Are you guys running Fabtech lifts? If not, what are you running?
I got a price of around $2000 for re-gearing my H2 from 4wheel parts. That seemed a little steep. When I do it I will be putting some better lockers in as well, so the cheaper the better! |

Capt., I am using Bulletproof suspension with King offroad shocks. Both companys have excellent support services too. http://www.bulletproofsuspension.net/ http://www.kingshocks.com/ The 2005-06 Rear Air Bag model H2 Hummer SUV's are coming equipped with a Non-Adjustable Ride Height Sensor. The K5001 will not work on these vehicles. At the current time, Fabtech does not make a kit for the 2005-06 H2 Hummers with rear air bag suspension. K5001 is only approved for the 2003-04 models that have the Adjustable Ride Height Sensors. |
