One reason to buy a Hummer

We are having rains of epic prooportions at the Lake of the Ozarks this weekend. The mud road up the hill to my brother's cabin was NO SWEAT for the H2, even with the grandchildren and a full load of groceries and fishing "stuff" in the back..... didn't even have to shift out of 4 high or deflate the tires.
Rt. W, which I've never seen water on in 30 years, has about 18 inches of standing water on a 300 ft. long section which I went right through, with the blessings of the local sheriff who was stopping traffic. I even brought a guy with us to the other side of the water so his wife could pick him up, although he was so impressed & complimentary about the H2 I ended up taking him the extra 3 miles to his house. We sometimes take for granted the capabilities of these machines.
Not much boating traffic for a Memorial Day weekend, but I think the weather and $4.99 a gallon gas at the marina has a lot to do with that. The water is so smooth, I may even get my bass boat out and catch some fish. My hats off to all our veterans and those who died so we can enjoy our freedom this weekend & every weekend in this great country!

After Hurricane's Katrina and Rita, I vowed that I would always own a vehicle that could get to where I wanted to go, no matter what the weather conditions. People like to give me crap about driving a monster, but when all hell breaks loose, they are always the one's that ask for a tow or a ride. Now, do you think I make them eat crow or what??

We went to Brookville Lake in IN for the weekend. Its about an hour from our house. We decided to stay close because of the gas prices. And I could tell alot of people did not go boating at all because of Gas Prices. the lake was less busy than any normal weekend there last year. Even though we stayed close to home we still spent $300 on gas. Typically we go to Lake Cumberland about 4 hours away.
