So, some of you know that I had some MORE issues with Medved Hummer in Castle Rock. They would NOT replace the tie rod, idler arm, pitman arm, camber kit, etc. under warranty because the damage was done off road. In addition to that, they made me pay CASH ONLY, would not take my checks (understandable) or my credit cards for the service.

So, I took the thing to Al Serra Hummer in Colorado Springs, CO on Saturday. They didn't get to it until today, but it will be done on Wednesday. They are replacing the torsion bars, armrests, headrests, fluids and filters, power steering pump, a loose mirror, weather stripping, and front power outlets. ALL UNDER WARANTY. They also did the 51 pt inspections and paid for the rental oldsmobuick I'm driving.

Thank you, once again, to Al Serra. They make it worth the extra 30 mile drive for that kind of service!

My ideler arm and pitman arm is being replaced for the second time right now. You should have told those guys at Medved Hummer to go to hell!!!!!!!!

This is premature wear and shold be covered. What?? Do you drive on the arms??? I hate stupid dealerships!!!!! That sucks..

I'm glad you found a good dealer. Take them to task and keep them there..

You should call the Hummer customer service line and give-um hell! That should put a small dent that dealers customer service scores! BIG-C

They didn't tell me about the "cash only" part until they were done with the repairs, late in the day, after the banks had closed. I had to wait an extra day to get my truck.

Yeah, I understand why they won't take a check, but CC's? Come on.

Hey Adam, what did they say about your power steering pump, my dealer replaced mine at 8,000 miles and said it was my 37" tires that did it and I have to change my tires or hummer won't keep warrent them anymore.

Adam,

Why is the dealer replacing the torsion bars?

Adam in CO 11-25-2003 07:51 PM

I didn't even know the power steering pump was out. The dealer found it. No changes to tires or anything, but under waranty.

The torsion bars are whacked from wheelin' I'm sure.

Sounds like the dealer is finding things to keep them buisy and running to the bank!!! I guss you would not be able to tell if your stearing pump was not working if your stearing is fine???!!!

That is definitely possible. It would not surprise me being a dealership. In some ways, they are all the same.
