which one?
i am changing the factory exhaust to the magnaflow catback exhaust. magnaflow offers 2 different types. one is a single 3.5"(p#16771) and the other is 3.5" to (2) 2.5"(p#16772). which system works better for the 6.2 liter? according to magnaflow tech, they told me the single will flow better at higher rpms and the dual will have better bottem end torque. also, if someone has one of these kits, does the tips turn a goldish color? thanks in advance.

Re: which one?
If you have a choice, I'd go with the dual tip if it does indeed make a better bottom end.
Unless you're towing, I don't see a benefit in having more top end. (and if you are, I doubt it's neglible) As far as the turning gold, I had a magnaflow on my first H2 and after 4 years, it never turned color. Mark |

Is there a difference in sound? How was the sound on your old rig? |

I can't tell you about the difference in sound. I can tell you that the sound I had was great... not too loud, no drone and a nice sound when you step on it. Mark |
Re: which one?
i ended up buying the single 3.5" magnaflow because i got a really good deal on it. the dynomax 4" looked pretty tempting too for the price. thanks for the input.

No problem, make sure you make a sound clip. The cool thing about the magnaflow is it looks great too. Good choice.... Mark |
Re: which one?
If you have air suspension, be careful with the Magnaflow. I installed a dual tip system and it came so close to the right air spring, it melted a hole in it. I had to make a heat shield to go around the air spring.

Re: which one?
i dont have air suspension...so hope all goes well with the install tomorrow.

Re: which one?
install went easy(about 30 mins)...the exhaust is deep and mellow and sounds really nice. i do notice a little extra power on the top end(4500 rpm and up). unfortunately my exhaust tip turned gold the second day so i am looking for something to take the gold tint away. any suggestions? i looked at magnaflow website and they said chrome wheel cleaner will take care of it..any help will be gladly appreciated.
