Rack and pinion bushings
 

Hi all:

Just bought a 2006 H3, but noticed some steering problems. My local mechanic told me that the Rack and Pinion bushings need to be replaced, but he could not find them anywhere. Local CV part store told him that the entire rack and pinion had to be replaced because of this.

If this true or someone knows wher I can buy the rack and pinion bushings only.

I actually had a power steering leak which got my rack-n-pinion bushing wet and ate away at the rubber......they "GM/Chevy"..don't sell them seperately at the dealer, but after a little research I found bushings for another make and model.....here's the part number from toyota............45517-34020 "grommet, steering".....exact fit.....paid like $14 for one....
