Center console lid latch
 

The lid on this had some type of latch that holds it down. That piece broke and disappeared.

I am sure I am not the first with this problem.

It looks like you can either buy the whole console, $$$$$ or suffer.

Can anybody get a picture of what the latch looks like? I guess you'd have to open the lid up. I'm thinking of fabricating the piece.

Has anybody found a fix for this.

I modified mine after it broke and put a few really strong magnets in the lid as well as the box, it helped keep it shut really nice. Hinges in the lid were already busted though and the covering on the lid was coming off so finally decided to break down and buy the lid piece. They are not cheap...

Magnets worked perfectly fine though ane they kept it closed really good, never had an issue with it popping open. Stained the magnets black too, couldn't hardly even see them.
